I'm sure they'll be respectfully quiet on their tour grosses.
After all, mime is money.

I'm definitely going to the tour opener. I introduced my girlfriend to Spinal Tap recently and she lit up at the possibility of seeing them live. Still have to check out A Mighty Wind though, how does it compare with Tap/Guffman/Best In Show?

Very well, especially Eugene Levy as a Jerry Garcia like character.

For different reasons, I liked it as much as Best in Show.
For common reasons, Eugene Levy, Eugene Levy, and more Eugene Levy

Still have to check out A Mighty Wind though,

Not enough Parker Posey, but she sure is perky. The hootenanny -type songs are perfect, like they were actually hits in an alternative universe.

I really liked For Your Consideration, but not as much as Best in Show. I'm still out on A Mighty Wind, though, I haven't seen it enough.

also, 10 hours is too far to drive for this, and it makes me sad. :(

I wouldn't worry about it, not a big college town.

This is gonna be one massive suck-fest unless you're some kind of
'Spinal Tap' fanboy.

Give it up; this joke was tired three months after the movie was
released.

Considering it was named one of the greatest comedy films of all time and is in the top 1% of all Netflix rentals ever, I think you're the only one who thinks it's tired. Thanks to everyone who recommended A Mighty Wind, I'm going to check it out this week and I'm very excited for lots of Levy.

One of my favorites. Lots of laugh-out-loud moments, and lots of subtle humor.

For example, in a backstage scene the sound from the stage is coming over a loud speaker. When the New Main Street Singers are introducing the group members, the leader says "I'm Terry Bohner" and if you listen closely you can hear the crowd erupt in laughter at his expense.

I looked at the youtube clip.
I'd much rather see them as Spinal Tap. This is kind of boring.

Six_By_Nine 2009-03-03 05:32:31 PM
Anyone in Jersey wanna go?

My husband, alas, don't appreciate it...

(I'd go to the Keswick, but ironically, I'm going to a different concert that night...but still Beacon or Borgata, and I just got to see Paul Simon at the reopening of the Beacon; it's gorgeous there!)

Great. At least now they can suck as themselves and not characters from a movie.
