Well, just about every electronic act has been down this road, but they don't stick to one specific effect/filter like everyone is doing with Autotune in mainstream music.

There's nothing wrong with drenching your vocals in effects, but this is just getting obnoxious.

I would have liked it better if it was Clint Howard.

I actually have more respect with the rappers who admit the computer makes them sound like nothing a human could sound like. J.lo on the other hand spends less time in the studio then the albums spend in post production to make her sound good.

Every Akon song activates the kill signal in my brain for that very reason. These systems are the vocal equivalent of a sausage grinder, except the sausage is palatable and this stuff is not.

I'll be surprised when they all have a guest verse on the song.

There's a certain aspect of vocals with effects that do sound cool. Skinny Puppy's Ogre sounded awesome. Underworld does a terrific job. Daft Punk add a lot of quirkiness to their music. Rhythm & Sound summon up ghostly spirits of dub.

But this is just a gimmick, a schtick, and it's gotten old and played out. fark's sake, it isn't funny anymore when people make spoof videos on the internet you know you need to stop doing it.

Ok, I ADORE Jamie Foxx, but this just isn't his niche. And hes a gazillionaire. He could have at least kicked out a better video than K-Feds premiere.
