(Talking Points Memo) Asinine Sen. Judd Gregg is so principled, he earned $650,000 from a land investment which got $60 million from the government. Sorry, I meant principaled, not principled   (tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com) divider line 33

The fact that lying, discredited, hypocritical Republicans have a near-monopoly on being the voice of opposition to Obama and the Dems is the single biggest factor undermining those who don't want Obama's agenda to be implemented.

Tragic irony or poetic justice? It's hard to tell some days which is the more appropriate view.

I honestly don't care what it is to the guilty Republicans and conservatives, I just care that it's a gross disservice to our public discourse, whether you agree with Obama or not. Our marketplace of ideas is being strangled by the duopoly, and not just those of us who are crowded out but also those who honestly hold liberal or conservative beliefs are harmed by the corruption and stagnation of our 19th Century political parties.

He did accept the position offered by Obama, and the fact we would have heard about this as a result is probably one of the factors that made him back out.

Yep. It's probably also why he's been talking about not running for re-election as well. The dumbass should have kept his head down and his mouth shut, but then again there hasn't been much I've seen out of him that indicates any real level of intelligence.

IIRC, Gregg contacted Obama first about the position, or at least put out some feelers to his administration about it. Obviously Obama had to offer him the position.

FTA
But improvements to Pease's terminal security, and efforts to shield Pease's office buildings from noise, would appear, at least potentially, to increase the value of his investment.

Those items mentioned are really the only things that could benefit Gregg's investment directly, and even at that, the "terminal security" should hardly be on the radar because commercial air traffic to Pease is so sparse.

And according to state corporate records and Senate disclosure reports, Judd Gregg has invested in several of his brother's projects.

At least he is not trying to hide it.

Honest question: Is it difficult going through life thinking everyone who disagrees with you is "stupid" or "ignorant" or "rude" or an "asshole" or has "no credibility" or should "fist-fark themselves"?

I imagine it is a hard life when you already know everything about the remainder of the population outside your world views and know they are all people who are not worthy of your respect.

It must make driving difficult. No?

Sure they do. I gave the fed $290k last year.

Some would consider that wealth.

The tax problems that cost at least two people their postings? The tax problems that were all the news for at least two days? The tax problems that were taken care of years before they were even selected for the cabinet positions and were only found and made a big deal of because of all the right-wing butthurt? Those the tax problems you mean?

Liberal indeed. I heard more about those tax problems on MSNBC than anywhere else.

Yes.

Insider trading is legal for Congress.

Why do you think those assholes work so hard to keep their seats?

They know what legislation is going to be passed so they have their staff buy up equities, real estate, etc. before it comes up for a vote and then unload after the prices rise.
