Awesome! Because everyone knows that Xanax, Prozac and Ritalin, when taken as directed, are extremely comparable to a cocktail of drugs that may include GHB, mescaline, crystal meth, and plenty of other fun stuff in addition to MDMA!

JerseyTim [TotalFark] 2009-02-28 09:09:49 AM
Their bigger complaint should be that some dummy thought a musical of Xanadu would be a good idea.

Actually, it would be awesome if that were true!

actually, MDMA taken under prescription and with supervision, is no more dangerous than Xanax, prozac or ritalin. it was originally used in a therapeutic setting. it didn't get banned until people started (ab)using it in the party scene.

Occam's Chainsaw [TotalFark] 2009-02-28 09:58:27 AM
Doooom: GHB, mescaline, crystal meth

Mescaline: Depending on the person, this is actually a beneficial additive to MDMA. I've seen people pay more for pills pressed with mescaline.

Crystal meth: Wrongo. If stimulants are used as a cutting agent, you'll typically see other amphetamines in use than meth.

GHB: LOLWUT

Another common additive you completely ignored is heroin, in very small quantities when compared with the amount you'd use were you simply using heroin.

Weaver95: actually, MDMA taken under prescription and with supervision, is no more dangerous than Xanax

Likewise, Xanax taken without a doctor's supervision can be just as dangerous as MDMA.

The difference is that one drug is generally taken with professional medical guidance, the other generally isn't.

Harry Freakstorm 2009-02-28 11:23:03 AM
The movie was like taking Ecstasy - rectally with a Doctor named Bubba delivering the pills via a six inch wide pipe and using a 200 psi air pump to force the pills in to your upper digestive tract.

Not that I have ever had a Dr named Bubba or pills delivered thusly. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Yeah, mescaline would be a sensical mdma counterfeit. Seeing as a dose of it would sell for 10-50x on a hit-by-hit basis relative to mdma. The fact that it is about 25 times less mass-efficient wouldn't get in the way, either.

So, yeah, I work in a pharmacy and this kid comes in with his mom and he's asking me all these questions, "What's that for? Why are you doing that? What does this picture mean?" He's probably 7 or so. The mom hands me a scrip for Vyvanse and says, "As you can see, we really needs this. Now." The kid said, "Is that my heart medicine?" and she was like, "Yeah, go sit." So he sat in the massaging chair and was still asking me questions, now about the chair, how does it work, why is it poking me in the back, etc, and the mom FLIPS OUT on him and said, "WILL YOU SHUT UP? JUST SHUT UP!"

I have no idea how kids are supposed to behave anymore.

I notice that some of the same people who would complain against the war on drugs will also piss and whine about the pharmaceutical industry forcing drugs down people's throats. Or piss and whine about the alcohol industry, or tobacco.

Personally, I couldn't give any shiat what someone puts into their bodies

And, come to think, I don't think it'd be such a good idea to run an ad that said "It's like taking a Xanax and Prozac cocktail and dosing your kids on Ritalin" either.

Holy shiat--- The kid is supposed to be curious! It's the seed of a genius mind and should be regarded as such...

I'm wondering, Is the mom so insecure that she cannot say "I don't know."?!

It's stupid idiots like this that has me resorted to books in the library. Thank god for intelligent authors.

Heroin is never used, amphetamine is also very rarely used. If you're going to get all of the gear set up to make and then press MDMA, there's little point in also setting up to produce additive that no one really wants anyway. The vast majority of tablets in circulation are purely MDMA/MDA.

wonder what would happen if you gave every "anti-drug" or "anti-marijuana" person a drug test.

My guess is 80% of them would be loaded on prescription drugs, oxy, everything else.

But that's okay, right? you know, since a doc gave you the drugs. no one would ABUSE prescription drugs, right?

Yeah, I know, right? Drugs taken under the care and supervision of a professional who knows their side effects and interactions is obviously just as dangerous and foolish as pushing the dosage limits for stronger effects from unregulated drugs sold at unknown dosages and, perhaps, contents.

I think everyone is missing the point. Once the kids see the musical it would be the equivalent of "Just say no to Ecstacy", since they would never want to experience that again.
