wtf thought getting Michael Steele to give the party 'street cred' or whatever was a good idea?!

This is the sort of ass-hatery that marketing geniuses think works but that any one with 2 licks of common sense would have told the GOP was the dumbest idea since Palin

Well, at least since Jindal.

This guy looks like he's turning out to be a disaster for the Republicans. Maybe they shouldn't have gone with the token black guy for RNC chairmen.

The GOP is just keepin' it real.*

/*real stoopid

flavor of the month 2009-02-27 05:58:11 PM
Michael Steele cares about one thing: the personal glorification of Michael Steele. he ran for RNC chairman because it would keep him on television. end of story. as a firm believer that republicans are trying to destroy the united states, i could not be happier that he is primarily responsible for getting them elected.

Dear Michael Steele: Please stop. Please

Dear Michael Steele and the Republican Party: Whatever the hell it is you think you're doing, please, please don't stop.

what_now [TotalFark] 2009-02-27 06:37:58 PM
Michael Steel has simply *got* to be a Democratic sleeper agent.

There is NO WAY that anyone would act that way, unless they were trolls.

This. I don't understand whom his coming to power is supposed to appease. I would imagine the 27%ers aren't too fond of having a black man as the head of their party, and the moderates can surely see that this pick was just a gimmick. So what does this accomplish?

Lenny_da_Hog 2009-02-27 10:10:49 PM
Hasn't everyone figured out this guy is a parody from "The Onion"?

The GOP is out of every other angle. They're having to go with caricatures at this point.

rathoth 2009-02-27 10:11:46 PM
You down with GOP? Yeah you know me!
Who's down with GOP? Every last whitey!

rppp01a 2009-02-27 10:12:13 PM
So .... the idea of the republican party is now being held by AM radio jockeys and a TV network? Oof, that's sad, baby.

Well, there's one angle they haven't tried: be logical and rational human beings. Kind of sad they'd rather choose to be caricatures instead.

Palin was their answer to Hillary, Steele was their answer to Obama...are they going to adopt a cat when the Obamas get their dog?

Diogenes: He's Obama's Bizarro.

Melissa Harris-Lacewell, political science professor at Princeton University: "I think what this pick shows is they are thinking Barack Obama is superman. So, what they needed to do was to get kryptonite. Kryptonite comes from superman's own planet. So, they went to 'planet black guy.'"

Britney Spear's Speculum 2009-02-27 10:19:40 PM
Dear GOP,

Your ideals are dead. They don't work for this country and have proven not to work. Please stop this nonsense because you're giving the democraps more power with your stupidity.

Sincerely,

Britney Spear's Speculum

P.S. Lose the fundies.

Everytime I go to the Foxnews website, I'm convinced its one big troll. It's like the Onion or something. You GOTTA read the "FoxForum" opinion pieces.

This is as cool as a 50+ year old vice principal rapping about abstinence at a suburban high school.

me_the_farker 2009-02-27 10:23:37 PM
I think they should have gone to the guy that was a member of a whites only "country club." It might have started as a public relations disaster at first but over time I think people would forgotten or just figured whatever. This Steele is just one embarrassment after another.

Donald_McRonald 2009-02-27 10:25:05 PM
Two bad there's no Vice Vice President. I'd totally be up for a Palin/Jindal/Steele ticket.

That's it? He didn't say "muh brotha" or "fo shizzle".

He just said he was open for alternative points of view. If this were a Dem, well...

BTW: who cares and how is this even a news story?

Smacky the Frog 2009-02-27 10:30:39 PM
What was it Michele Bachman said to Steele? "Michael Steele. You be da man. You be da man"?

They have to know, deep down inside their tar-ish souls, that they are behaving like fools.

Somehow I doubt that the folks around here would ridicule Obama for similar actions.

I can't wait till tomorrow...Rush Limbaugh's going to take the stage to accept his "award" and say something incredibly stupid while Steele, Bachmann, Gingrich et al are in the room. It's going to be the #1 talking point of the Monday news cycle, which gives the Obama administration plenty of cover to covertly pass his secret muslin/socialist/marxist/communist/terrorist agenda.

I love how he gets more and more orange every time I see him.

RNC strategists: "You're not black enough, Mike! More spray-tanning for you!"

Oompa loompa doobity dee, Micheal Steele is the token black guy in the Republican par-ty.

The meltdown is enjoyable to watch, and I'm conservative in my politics.
The GOP has lost any semblance of common sense.

Flabbergasted.

The GOP has no concept whatsoever of what the words "patronizing" or "condescending" mean.

I think the GOP genuinely believes that black people are stupid, and thus unable to see through petty and hollow attempts to gain their support.

Meanwhile, black people just keep shaking their heads and voting for the Democrats.

I know its wrong, I really do, but I can't even force myself to take seriously or have any respect for any black person that votes Republican. "Uncle Tom dumbass" just runs through my head.

I'm not proud of that, but WTF is wrong with people?

To be fair to them, it's worked with white people for years, why would blacks be any different?

I could have told them that once they let him run the show, he would turn out to be lazy and shiftless. I kid, but sort of on the square.

What clearer sign could there be that a Black Man has totally lost touch with his heritage than for him to become active in Republican Politics. That's like a Hip Hop Cellist, or an Eskimo Water Polo team, or a Saudi Brewer.

There is only ONE black man who could have carried this off, and I am pretty sure he's a Democrat: Bill Cosby.

Sure they know the meaning. I can just imagine the focus groups they paid for to come up with this line of crap.

"So, why don't you like the Republican Party?"

"They're always so... you know... *white*. The suits, the ties, they don't relate to me culturally. They can't be down with it, you know what I'm sayin'?"

And then, in comes the marketing team to create Poochie the Dog, rastafied by 10%....

I wonder which party Uncle Phil would have aligned with...

img15.imageshack.us

Seriously... cause he was rich as hell, belonged to a country club, had mostly white friends/acquaintances, but was raised poor.

It is an important point, b/c there are a lot of Uncle Phils out there, and I'm curious which way they would vote.
