FTFA: All U.S. troops have to be out of Iraq by December 31, 2011

Would you prefer we pull out all troops tomorrow, and leave the country in an unstable state, trollmitter?

Yeah, I didn't think so.

POAC

Traditionally we call them "advisers" to make their presence more acceptable to political groups who don't want foreign "soldiers."

Everyone wants to leave. But if you up and go, one day I guarantee we'll need to send back troops again. Progress has, amazingly, been made. It only cost us a tidy thirteen-figure sum to do it, but the last thing you want is for Iraq to turn into another Afghanistan.

Senescent Dawn 2009-02-27 08:53:27 AM
And please mods -- I'm begging you. Never greenlight another "change you can believe in" headline again. Please? Everytime I see it, a little more of my heart dries up and rots off.

Um, the US is building up more forces in Afghanistan. You knew that, right?

I'm talking about how Afghanistan is/was politically. Ya know, lawless. There were no Al Qaeda training camps in Iraq for a reason.

I don't like Obama and his "change" scam, but I have to admit these headlines are kind of annoying.

Meh. He made some statements about Iraq to appease the moonbats in this country. He is "in the know" now. You're going to see him change his mind on a lot of things about national security and the war on "terra" abroad. I have no problem with this, and I can't stand B. Hussein Obamao. I wouldn't use this against him, and it actually gets a +1 in his favor in my mind.

Tastes Like Chicken [TotalFark] 2009-02-27 09:24:00 AM
Big whoop. This is what a phased withdrawal would look like, you f*cking nimrod. You know, phased withdrawal, that thing we libtards were pushing for and many Republicans on Fark were pissing in their panties over. Although you were always too stupid to understand, nobody wanted to get all the troops out of Iraq all at once.

"scam?" have you seen the federal budget? it couldn't be more different than those of the previous administration. whether it's "change you can believe in" or not, it's still change.

I just like how people seemed to blindly believe that when Obama was elected he'd wave his magic Obama wand and the country would be awesome and all the troops would come home and unicorns would be real. It's just not how the world works.

So we're just going to abandon the strategically located, billions worth of bases we built there? That's a dumb move, Obama.

Yup, you nailed it. Moonbat tears will flow once again. No impeachment for W., Gitmo stays open as other countries stop returning phone calls when they figure out they're not going to be housing the islamic branch of the boy scouts, Iraq will continue, Afghanistan will garner more troops, the first hot-pursuit ventures of our troops into Pakistan will cause outrage, and Iran and North Korea will launch "satellites" that both fall 10 miles short of New York City. Interesting times ahead.
