When they got into making feature-length films, like Flesh and Trash, you're correct. But early on, with the experimental shorts like Blow Job and the screen tests, Warhol was actively involved and sometimes acted as camera operator himself.

Nice. I found the Songbook DVD they did quite entertaining.
