They are AW, here is how I would deal with them. The best way to beat an AW is to out AW them. So instead of counter protesting create a fake protest and out do them. Make it something dumb, have a small group show up next to them dressed in brown and carrying signs in support of peanut butter and a larger group come and counter them protesting for jelly. Do it right next the westboro guys but act like they are not there.

I like the idea of surrounding them with hockey sticks disguised as "angel wings," which is both a hopeful message of peace and also a potentially dangerous message, should those "wings" start flapping on Westboro Baptist protestor heads.
