I'm assuming that Subby has never heard of Jonathan Lee Riches before. Here, let me fill you in.

Here you go (pops)

Hmmm
Ftfa:
..."but the defendants insisted they did not care and encouraged me to buy Budweiser beer and funnel cake with more stolen funds."

Did anyone else notice how right AND wrong that statement is?

So maybe now Jack Thompson will quit being a douche to gamers and jump down NASCAR fans' throats?

Is it bad that my first reaction to the headline was, "YES!" ?

Wow, Jonathan Lee Riches, wish I could say I was surprised. The man has nothing better to do.

Wow...another jailhouse lawyer I guess. No REAL lawyer would bring some of these cases before a court. "The Somali Pirates?" come on...

JLR rocks....this may be my new mantra..

"Defendants put me in prison. I face imminent danger from violent inmates who played Grand Theft Auto who will knock me out and take my gold Jesus cross."

//still has gold Jesus cross, btw

Will anyone ever taken responsibility for their own actions, ever?

Seriously, if you want to argue that NASCAR (or videogames) cause you to do anything in real life, then the judge ought to lock you up in a mental facility because you're admitting you are incapable of controlling yourself.

Wondering if the Tom and Jerry defense will work
for smashing someone in the face with a frying pan....

I think it's more the "I like to watch things go around in a circle for hours" mentality that did it.

Just when I thought John Lee Ritches had fallen off the map. My link to his list of lawsuits has not been updated lately. I am glad to see he is still in action. Hopefully, one of these days a judge will strip him of his right to file lawsuits. If ever someone needed a tinfoil hat, this person would be the poster child.

I am surprised he did not list Dale Jr claiming the National Guard made an attempt on Ritches life and that Richard Petty is not conspiring to have him killed. Or perhaps Tony Stewart forced Home Depot to build a house on top of his property using Dewalt tools owned by Matt Kenseth as Elliott Sadler sold his TV to Best Buy.

Shenanigans! Joey Logano drives the Home Depot car now! Tony Stewart would poke him with pencils from Office Depot nowadays.

Wonder why you don't hear a lot more of these types of defenses used but naming police news reports and TV shows as the reason why...

I know Tony nows owns his own car and is no longer #20, but remember, lawsuits take time to file and make headline news.
Watching the Auto Club 500 on the parade lap as I type.

Exactly. This man is worthy of the title "Galactic Class Wackjob." God help us when he actually gets out in 2012.

Oh golly. Can you imagine this personon the outside? Couple of years ago some stellar member of society initiated a lawsuit against Arm n Hammer, producers of Baking Soda...Appearantly the box of baking soda does not include the warning to not use the product illegally when making crack. I can only imagine this is the same person.
Some expert claimed Arm n Hammer was legally liable for not including a warning sim to cough medicine stating it is illegal to cook meth from cough syrup that works etc.

Where is judge Ito when we need him!?!?! Before the OJ trial he was about to remove the rights of some woman who sued her whole block numerous times over any and everything... Even down to grass on concrete.

That was my first hope... but then I RTFA, and it's Johnathon Lee Riches. However, they're both equally insane, so maybe.
