The United States Marine Band? I read that and the first thing I thought of was in high school the army band came to our school and performed. A kid later asked our Government teacher (who was a retired Marine Corp colonel) if the Marines had a band. I never saw a guy get so pissed so fast. Started screaming at the kid "MARINES DON'T WASTE THEIR TIME WITH HAVING A BAND THEY'RE ALL TOUGH AND DEDICATED TO THEIR DUTY AND NOT A BUNCH OF PUSSIES, etc, etc, etc....

Most members of the Marine Band aren't really Marines. They've never gone through boot camp and they aren't riflemen.
