They have songs about comic books? Or in other words: There are emo cutter comic books?

Of course there are "emo cutter" comic books, even by whatever retarded definition for "emo" (I'm-a guess you mean, "with stupid haircuts", right smacky?) But, seriously, have you never read a comic book?

and if the answer is "no" why did you come in here and make a comment about comic books?

Does this mean Gerard Way will stop terrorizing comic book stores with his particular brand o' crap?

Gotta disagree there. The Umbrella Academy has been one of the most consistently good titles I've read in a long while. The first run was a great story (better than a lot of stuff on the shelves now) and the second is shaping up pretty well itself.

I'm iffy on his music, but he's a damn good writer.

"The Black Parade" is one of the most poorly recorded albums I have ever heard. It's like every dial on the mixing board was turned up to 11.

And the songs sucked, too.

Wow, he touched a nerve there, didn't he? Why don't you write a poem about it in the upper right hand corner of a page in your sketch book. Be sure to include a few drawings of Tim Burton-esque characters....

Now if we could only keep them away from Bob Dylan masterpieces.

Umbrella Academy(Gerald Way) isn't that bad. It is a halfway decent graphic novel. I like Amory Wars by Claudio from Coheed and Cambria a little better.

Probably.

But, this is FARK, where everything you like sucks, everything I like is superior, and it is wrong to like anything!

/Umbrella Academy was pretty good.

If they mean Punky Brewster, and therefore in the manner of a little girl, then they are 100% correct in my opinion.

For the record, I love their cover of Desolation Row... for the upcoming abhorration of a film that draws its inspiration from a comic book.

If they're punk, GG Allin is rolling and sharting in his grave.

If he did that, he'd just smear it on himself.

Came here to say this.

Notice they said "punky", not "punk". I presume they just mean power chords and fast songs.

Also, I don't think it's actually possible to be any less worthwhile than GG Allin. The guy was less of a musician and artist than Paris Hilton, never mind anyone in an actual band.

wandero 2009-02-22 08:06:53 AM
I'd wondered about that, since there's an MCR song that starts with Way screaming a line from "Sandman."
