Oh why not? There's thousands of people who'll plunk down the cash to see these guys.

Never quite my taste, but Paul Simon is a talented guy.

They wouldn't have to keep doing this if Artie would refrain from spending all his money on hookers and blow.

I'd prefer the sound of silence.

Headline is confusing; Paul Simon is still married to Edie Brickell. Did Garfunkel get the divorce shaft recently?

Fail. Brickell is his third marriage.

Paul Simon has created some wonderful stuff.
Hope he continues.
Art Garfunkle has performed some good stuff of Paul Simon's.
Hard times does produce some good things.

ex-wife= Princess Leia

What was the name of Jake Blues' fiance'?

I don't care what anyone says, those two are fantastic. I hope I can afford tickets if they make it anywhere near me.

I'd go see them...some cheap brown bud, gallon jug of wine (preferably in a rattan cozy) and it would be a cool flashback to simpler times! Plus some great lyrics/vocals.

I ran outta gas! I had a flat tire! I didn't have enough money for cab fare! My tux didn't come back from the cleaners! An old friend came in from outta town! Someone stole my car! There was an earthquake! A terrible flood! Locusts!! It wasn't my fault I swear to God!!!

I wonder if they'll be doing any songs off of Simon's "Hearts and Bones" album.

You know - the one that they recorded together until Paul "decided" to erase all of Artie's tracks from the LP and release it as a solo project.

TimeWaste 2009-02-19 01:32:42 PM
Man, I'll sell my house, car, wife, and penis to see the two of them live.

They are my favourite.

BRENDAN-FACE 2009-02-19 01:37:36 PM
I really do want to see this. They're one of the acts I've had on my wish list for pretty much ever. It'd be nice if Simon acted like a human being toward Garfunkle this time around, thoughI highly doubt that will happen.

TimeWaste 2009-02-19 01:41:23 PM
Does anyone have any back story on the Central Park concert when that dude runs up on stage halfway through Simon's Still crazy after all these years? He said "I need to talk to you," and then got tackled by security.

I've always wanted to know his deal.

Ok...well, they've been married since the early 90's. So it would seem Brickell is also his CURRENT wife. The others should have been far enough back where any financial ties should have elapsed by now.

They both can still sing decently and it would probably be a pretty good show, as far as acts from their era that still tour go.

Stay Cool Babylon 2009-02-19 02:43:58 PM
I'd pay to see them. They are a pretty damned important piece in the overall history of 'popular music.'

As an aside, The Graduate changed my life. And that's not hyperbole.

Hope they're feelin' groovy. Cecelia say's if they're not, she'd rather just hear the sounds of silence.

I hear they're going to play at Scarborough Fair. I'm not too interested though. I'll be nearby on Bleeker Street to see the boxer and pick up some bookends. After that, it's homeward bound.

Help me out

I saw them on the american tour a few years ago.

1) They were spectacular. I expected two guys visibly bickering and morose and instead they sang like they had one brain, not even looking at each other for cues as to how they were phrasing things. And, at the end, PAUL sincerely hugged Artie.

2) In the middle of the show, they brought out the Everly Brothers. Wonderful, really. The Bros did some stuff and the four of them sang together.

3) It was the first concert I went to that the audience members had walkers. Ouch.

Marla Singer's Laundry: Help me out

Meter

7 syllables in the first line of the headline, 6 in the second.
Third and fourth lines both have 10 syllables, but the feet don't match up.

/They're tough on the ear. They're very wearying. Unpleasant to read. Unrewarding.

I thought the two hated each other.

Desperate times call for desperate ♫measures♫?

Saw the same gig in DC. Really great performers.

Oh bollocks! At first glance the headline had me excited about the prospect of something new from The Darkness. I was quite sad a moment later when I realized it was these two chavs.

I can't imagine a bigger waste of time/snoozefest unless it was
going to see James Taylor.

Hello Paul?-hey, this is Art
I need the dough-please do your part
It's reunion time-hope crowds will come
We can surely clear a princely sum
At the concert we'll do all our long-gone hits,
see saggy tits,
and sing "The Sound of Silence."
