That may well be the most obscure green I've ever seen. Definitely the most obscure in a while at any rate.

Sibelius isn't obscure, is he?

Bathia_Mapes [TotalFark] 2009-02-19 03:20:16 AM
Even non-nerds have probably heard some of Jean Sibelius' music, whether they realize it or not. The music that was played at the end of Die Hard 2 when all the planes are landing was from Finlandia (about 2:50 into video).

"Normal" and "FARKer" are mutually exclusive terms. Please try again.

/Jean Sibelius was a Finnish composer, known mainly for seven symphonies, Tapiola, and music used in Masonic ceremonies. He died in 1957.

Yeah, I didn't get it at all because I was thinking of Schubert. Good one, subby.

Now, as to why Obama would want to take away the potential to win a senate seat in Kansas in 2010, that's a whole nother story...

A year or so as a Cabinet Secretary is a bad thing to have on her resume?

While we're on Fark obscurity, I'd like to point out that "Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States" does not exist. There are 8 Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States and one Chief Justice of the United States. No Supreme Court in his title.

/Gov. Sebelius, to answer your question, is a popular two term Democratic governor of a fairly Republican Kansas who is said to be very bipartisan. Time listed her as one of the top 5 Governors in 2005. She also, more importantly, served as the Kansas Insurance Commissioner, where she took anti-insurance positions. Presumably, the Obama administration's main goal for HHS will be to shepherd the expansion of health coverage to uninsured, which will face stiff opposition from the insurance companies.
//End obscurity

that wouldn't have anything to do with a republican supermajority in both houses of the kansas legislature now would it? or any anti-tax covenants the legislators may have signed? naw. couldn't be that. must be the democratic governor.

After this budget fiasco, there's no way Sebelius gets elected in Kansas again. Especially not for the Senate seat. That will go to Moran or Tiahrt.

I wouldn't vote for Tiahrt under any circumstance. What a right wing prick he is.
