The super-group of veteran musicians died with George Harrison and Roy Orbison; leave it so.

OK, that is a rather odd combination. Very odd even.

Bun E. Carlos is a has been? Really? Last I checked Cheap Trick still sells out good sized theaters no problem.

Also, odd combinations are nothing new. Hell Robin Zander and Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick are on the Revolting Cocks album from a couple years back. Yes, two guys from Cheap Trick are on a RevCo album. And that's far from the weirdest stuff you'll find.

I wanted to punch every one of them (except the Cheap trick guy) looking at those pictures

ZOMG! Musicians who once sold a lot of records still play music sometimes!

I was hoping you were talking about these guys ...

My sentiments exactly. I'll check it out, if only because Bun E. Carlos needs more of my money.

James Iha rocks. His solo album was really not what I was expecting, nothing at all like his work with Smashing Pumpkins, but awesome.

Yeah. I'd say so, too. Seriously.

This. Let It Come Down is awesome. It's got a very 70's country rock feel. Not very Pumkins-y at all, except for the b-sides Billy gave James.

And Cheap Trick rocks. Fountains Of Wayne is great. And James and Adam were in Ivy together.

The Hanson kid is the odd one in the equation, but I'll give the group a listen.

I'm excited. I've seen Trick bunches of times. Just saw FOW last year. If they come to atlanta, I'm there. BUN E is simply amazing on drums and Adam is an factastic songwriter.

Stop picking on Hanson.

They're a damned sight better than the Jonas Bros.

Knock Hanson all you want, but they knew how to write tight, catchy and to-the-point pop songs.

I like the way some people use "has-been" to denigrate anybody who was ever part of anything successful, like that's some sort of character flaw. Almost like it's preferable to have been a "never-was."

Really, popularity has zilch to do with talent. Paris Hilton, for example. And on the converse, The Replacements were never "big time" in the way Wham, for example, were, but anybody who thinks Wham were a better band should sue their surgeon for screwing up the lobotomy.

This group sounds like they could be decent. I'd listen to the music before criticizing it, at least.

Hanson was the Jonas Bros. of the 90s.
Jonas Bros. are just the Hanson of the 00s.
Ten years from now I guarangoddamntee that there will be another group of teenybopping brothers tearing up the charts.

Behold the cycle of pop music.

Adam and James Iha are friends. They co-owned a record label together back in the mid-90's.

Superficially, it does seems like a weird group, but I'm curious, and they've all got the power pop thing in common.

Why does the author have to mention Arby's horsey sauce!? I had forgotten about it! Why? The horror, THE HORROR!

/ I threw up a little. Stuff is awful.

// come to mention, Arby's itself. What IS that crap?

An odd grouping, Bun E. brings a lot to the table. There could be some very odd pop sound coming out of this. Will give it a listen and go from there.

It's called Let It Come Down. It's not nearly as good as anyone in this thread makes it out to be.

Here's a link on Amazon where you can get it for the very reasonable price of about $47.

Hanson were really annoying and are now just boring, but that kid could always sing pretty good. This looks promising, on the whole.

Um - nevermind. I'll wait for the new CD. I wouldn't pay that to see the show live.
