(Slate) Amusing Eliot Spitzer presents four better ways of fixing the CEO pay debacle. 1) Pay them in hookers. 2) Pay their salaries to hookers. 3) Pay them to visit hookers. 4) I really, really miss being governor   (slate.com) divider line 21

Great headline. Would read again!

Even better article. Despite the man's digressions, Spitzer was far ahead of the curve on the sub-prime meltdown, and likewise, this is a very well written assessment.

To bad he has to attach his name to this article. He's spot on.

Subby's plan is sure to get the support of at least one legislator.

I don't like Spitzer but his outline isn't too bad. a little tweaking may be in order but he outlines the overall problem very accurately.

It's a shame he's a hypocrite scumbag, because it's a well written piece and I am intrigued by his ideas.

On an unrelated note, that woman from the Kaplan ad is a FOX.

Well written article is shot down by ad hominem attack. Douchemitter has taken debate classes in high school.

/ Prostitution should be legal

It really is a shame for us all that Elliot Spitzer ruined his reputation and credibility by doing something so incredibly stupid, because he's actually a highly intelligent and enlightened person when it comes to issues like this. It's his own fault for getting himself in the mess he did, but we're all likely to suffer for it.

Spitzer was taken down for mentioning "Hey, it's all going to fall apart!" months before it all fell apart.

That, and for having bad taste in hookers.

I like what he has to say in this article.
I like his taste in hot, trashy, hookers too.
His wife was hot too, even with the sad grumpy face she made at the press conference.

Ad hominem is a nice catch phrase around here. Its too bad you are too dense to realize that Spitzer blew his credibility all over some prostitutes tits and now he's viewed as a hypocrite and a national joke because of what he did. The headline is a satirical way of saying no matter what Spitzer says, no one is gonna pay serious attention to it.

So what if he's a jerk - he's an effing smart one who's credibility lies in the strength of his reasoning and arguments. People still pay attention to him - they just won't give him credit.

All his Slate articles have been great so far.

/your too dense to get it, I'm pretty sure

I would've voted for Spitzer for President, doesn't matter which party he belonged to. The one politician who really understood his job.

WTF is letting this guy write anything, anywhere? Douche

Is this guy Spitzer daft? His ideas would of course never work. Any complex system can be gamed. (as we have seen)

Yeah, committing felonies is an important part of any politician's job.

Most of those guys see hookers. He got investigated, caught and publicized because he made too many enemies with his prosecutorial activities.

Patrick Fitzgerald had best be careful with his free time...

Pay them in provelone.

EwoksSuck 2009-02-20 06:32:38 AM
Why not just put them on Commissions? Give them a base salary say $100 to 200K and then let the board set goals for them to achieve on a weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual basis and give them a commission based on their performance. If they increase profits and shareholder value they get more money. If they sink the company they just get their base and a pink slip. No Golden Parachutes. No bonuses. We are told all of the time these CEOs must be paid so well because of the great talents they bring to the job. Well if they are so talented then they should have no problem earning higher pay via commissions based on performance like most successful sales people do.
