I don't know if Rachel Maddow still broadcasts with AAR since picking up her MSNBC gig (I'm assuming not), but her radio show was incredibly even-handed and sensible. If there is going to be a genre going by the moniker "liberal radio", her show is the template that it should pattern itself on.

The intelligent and civilized part of the country moved to TV and the internet ages ago. I'm not sure why they feel the need to reach down to the uncivilized morons still listening to AM radio.

We removed them from the places where they failed, why penalize them for finally finding something they are good at ?

I don't listen to a lot of political radio commentary, but it has always seemed to me that liberal hosts spend way too much energy being reactive to their conservative counterparts, instead of outlining their ideals to the listening public.

This always frustrated me. Letting Limbaugh get your goat is not productive.

I honestly don't know how people can listen to any of these shows conservative or liberal. I've tried, but after a while you realize it's 5-8 minutes of ranting with maybe a caller or two, usually getting cut off mid-sentence and then 5+ minutes of commercials. Rinse and repeat.

I think RR's show was down to maybe 30 minutes of actual content per hour. Not sure what Rush is like, but that's just not enough.

Her show was kind of weird for a while; she would have her TV show playing over the air with little splits in and out to give shout-outs to the radio audience along with an hour or so of normal radio time. Now they seem to have cut back the last hour and instead we get Ron Reagan (yawn). I wish they had just removed her slot and put on Thom Hartmann instead, it pisses me off that he's off the air at 4 now. Who the fark listens to talk radio during the day?
