This is the end
You made your choice
And now my chance is over
I thought I was in
You put me down
And say I'm goin' nowhere

Save me darlin'
I am down
But I am far from over

For Tool, I'd replace Stinkfist with Forty-Six & 2. And Fraggler ftw.

Early in the fall, I downloaded the theme songs to all the levels for Sonic 1 and 2. Strangely enough, some of them were great background music for running. Don't know about weightlifting, though.

Memes Ate My Balls 2009-02-17 04:43:26 PM
Obscure industrial music beats everything on this list.
The angry stuff is great for lifting.

The_Sponge [TotalFark] 2009-02-17 04:43:50 PM
Have you heard the new Fall Out Boy song? IT...GETS....ME...PUMPED!

ZeroCorpse [recently expired TotalFark] 2009-02-17 04:44:46 PM
Considering the bodybuilder's I've known, I think "It's Raining Men" by the Weathergirls would be the top choice.

hachijuhachi 2009-02-17 04:44:50 PM
I like angry rap best for lifting. Party hip hop for cardio stuff. I'm white too.

Car_Ramrod:

In a similar vein, the music from "F-Zero X" is horrible for driving. Your right foot just seems to get heavier and heavier...

ultraholland 2009-02-17 04:46:04 PM
My list:

You're the Best Around - Karate Kid soundtrack
The Touch - Stan Bush
Push It To The Limit - Scarface soundtrack
Last of the Mohicans theme

Play on loop for as long as you need.

NewHere 2009-02-17 04:46:08 PM
What? No Joe Esposito's "You're the Best (Around)" on this list?

FAIL!

Nakito 2009-02-17 04:46:18 PM
History shows again and again
How nature points out the folly of men.

vudukungfu 2009-02-17 04:46:29 PM
I like En Vougue for the heavy bag.

I think you just outed yourself by knowing who sings that song.

/For me it's tool, pantera, korn, primer 55, spineshank, and a variety of other angry rock bands.
/the angrier the better

maxwellhauser [TotalFark] 2009-02-17 04:47:42 PM
Awesome. I'll load up my iPod and head to the gym in 26 minutes.

OMG. I totally screwed up my apostrophe placement.

I'm not normally that dumb, but this IS a bodybuilder thread, and it must have influenced me somehow.

Arthur Figgis 2009-02-17 04:48:05 PM
Here's a great workout playlist:

1."Blood and Thunder," Mastodon
2."Attero Dominatus," Sabaton

Repeat all.

TheLopper 2009-02-17 04:48:06 PM
When "Thunderstruck" comes on my IPod, my workout productivity jumps 200%.

The_Sponge [TotalFark] 2009-02-17 04:49:26 PM
What a shiatty list. Here's the perfect music for any weight room:

AC/DC

/That is all.

gmpilot 2009-02-17 04:49:45 PM
Generic lists FTW! Wait, what list is this again?

Desquamation 2009-02-17 04:50:21 PM
I mostly listen to Slayer during my workouts.

Seasons, Reign, and South of Heaven.

Rinse, repeat.

Try to be best
'Cause you're only a man
And a man's gotta learn to take it

Try to believe
Though the going gets rough
That you gotta hang tough to make it

History repeats itself
Try and you'll succeed

Never doubt that you're the one
And you can have your dreams!

You're the best!
Around!
Nothing's gonna ever keep you down
You're the Best!
Around!
Nothing's gonna ever keep you down
You're the Best!
Around!
Nothing's gonna ever keep you dow-ow-ow-ow-own

Fight 'til the end
Cause your life will depend
On the strength that you have inside you

Ah you gotta be proud
starin' out in the cloud
When the odds in the game defy you

Try your best to win them all
and one day time will tell
when you're the one that's standing there
you'll reach the final bell!

You're the best!
Around!
Nothing's gonna ever keep you down
You're the Best!
Around!
Nothing's gonna ever keep you down
You're the Best!
Around!
Nothing's gonna ever keep you dow-ow-ow-ho-how-ho-own

You're the best!
Around!
Nothing's gonna ever keep you down
You're the Best!
Around!
Nothing's gonna ever keep you down
You're the Best!
Around!
Nothing's gonna ever keep you dow-ow-ow-ow-own

Fight 'til you drop
never stop
can't give up
Til you reach the top (FIGHT!)
you're the best in town (FIGHT!)
Listen to that sound
A little bit of all you got
Can never bring you down

You're the best!
Around!
Nothing's gonna ever keep you down
You're the Best!
Around!

Fraggler: This entire album FTW.

I saw those guys live once, they opened for Queens of the Stone Age, who opened for NIN. Anyway Death from Above is loud and intense, not bad for a drummer and bassist.

Churchill92 2009-02-17 04:51:59 PM
I cannot listen to metal it disturbs my rhythm while working or running. I gotta do something with little to no lyrics and a constant beat.

Hence why Rap music is perfect. Who ever understands what they say anyway?

ultraholland 2009-02-17 04:52:06 PM
Hell, yeah! Rolling Stones, Street Fighting Man! G-7!

DrForrester 2009-02-17 04:52:07 PM
I've heard, uh, three of these, and I don't want to hear any of the others.

I give that list a resounding meh.

For my workouts, nothing but metal. The heavier the better.

/gym, 26 minutes, etc.
