Genius idea. Invest in a theme park in a country which has trouble maintaining stability. Seriously, celebrities (even washed up ones) making their own investment choices is like doctors who think they know how to invest in real estate ... you're probably going to lose.

Kindest Sir, You are pleasing to be at minimum this tall to ride this ride.

If it were a Marlon Wayans theme park I might go, but Marlon Jackson?

Hey now. Any one member of the Jackson 5 is 100x more talented than any member of the Wayans family.

I see your Tito and raise you one Damon.

/will always get a pass for The Last Boyscout and Men on films

Wow, that headline is a hell of a stretch. Neverland belonged to Michael (not the family) and the theme park is Marlon's idea (not the family's).

You know what would be WAY better than the Neverland Ranch? The Negativland Ranch.

He might as well go build a theme park at Auschwitz while he's at it.

I loved "The Last Boyscout." I honestly think Wayans was not memorable at all for his acting ability though. You could insert any comedian at the time and it would have worked.

Anyway, yeah, Damon is the most talented of the whole family, but the impact he had on the nation compared to the Jackson 5 is minimal.

I'm not really personally invested in the argument though, so don't take my opinions too seriously.

Oh... that slavery.

For a second I thought Janet was opening an S&M resort.

FTA (emphasis mine) "This will be an adventurous ride giving you an historical overview of African music. From hologram images, concert footage, a state of the art recording facility, to robotic figures displaying the rhythmic beats from 300 years ago where music began leading up to the biggest African group in the world, The Jackson Five," says literature from the investment group behind the plan, called The Motherland Group (TMG).>

This goes about a thousand lashes past tacky.

Isn't that projected "artist's rendition" just a painting of "Atlantis" in the Bahamas?

But hey- Halle Berry, stripper cowgirl. And the best conversation regarding infidelity ever.

Still... yeah. It's like I said about Titanic- Leonardo DiCaprio wasn't brilliant nor was he bad, it just wasn't a terribly difficult role. I'm glad he's improved over the years but the attention was unwarranted.

I can agree with that. Though I've LOVED everything he's done since. Especially "Aviator" and "Departed." The kid is really good.

Greetings,

I am writing this email to you in the hop that you will assist me, in the name of Christian Charity. My husband was an investor in a new theme-park that has made so far over 1,500,000 dollars. He sadly passed away in a car accident and now i am having trouble collecting his portion of the profits from this exciting and profitable venture.

If you open an account and deposit 50,000 in it, I will be able to use those fees to colect my porion of his investment and I will share teh profits with you.

Sincerely in Christ,
Mrs. ajkoikumani

I wonder if the theme park would include the ugly truth that it was actually Africans who traded fellow Africans into slavery in the first place, with Mohammadans at the helm of the whole thing (hell the Arabs still engage in "black" slavery today).

Somehow I think not - it's much easier to blame whitey and the Jews for everything.

Well, whitey did buy the slaves. Do you think the cigarette companies are to blame for people wanting cigarettes (marketing technique argument aside)? Hard to blame anyone for selling something there is a market for, even if it is a vice product.

Just to be clear - I do think purveyors of humans as property are scum for providing such a product, but it's not like anyone was forced to buy the product.

Mathilda,
Whitey was not the only one to "buy" slaves and benefit from them. You knew that right and did understand what Angst was trying to say?

I did. Anyone who bought slaves is still to blame because they create the market, and that is what I was trying to say.

You should check him out in some of the things he did before Titanic, especially What's Eating Gilbert Grape and Total Eclipse (where he plays Arthur Rimbaud). He was a good actor who almost had his career ruined by a blockbuster. I'm glad that he's recovered from that and seems to be getting better and better.
