He's done pretty well with his KipWinger's Personal Finance and College guides.

As far as '80s hair metal went, I thought "Headed For A Heartbreak" wasn't too bad.

As far as songs about statutory rape go, "Seventeen" wasn't too bad.

Highly underrated band. Sure, they were hair metal, but they had 100x more musicianship in that outfit than any of their peers at the time.

Pull
, in particular, is seriously underrated. It's an excellent album.

I realize it's the dude's name, but Winger is the lamest band name ever.

I hated Winger, but they did make a few bucks and had the admiration of metal sluts world wide.

I was never a big Winger fan until I saw them perform live in 2002. They really put on a great show. Kip Winger is a very talented and accomplished musician, writer, and composer.

Joe Elliot was putting down bands like Poison, Winger, and some other "hair bands" durring an interview. (Yeah I know, who is joe Elliot to put down anybody. His voice was shot at the VH1 Rock honors performance). Kip Winger challenged him to meet a a bar/night club with an acoustic guitar, both play some songs, and let the fans judge. Joe Elliot has yet to accept.

Say what you will about his 80's hair stuff.

But I've met Kip a few times personally. He is very grounded. No ego. The sorta guy you'd ask over to have a beer and a burger off the grill to watch the game. A co-worker of mine was helping him produce and mix some tracks is how I got the pleasure.

The guy is also an amazing musician and producer. He dabbled in jazz for awhile and it was really good stuff.

Kip Winger didn't play bass, he made love to the bass till it would sing.

I was always afraid of his teeth. I was just waiting for the fangs to come right out and he'd go to town on some poor innocent's neck a la Lestat. He owned hair band smiles the way Jon Bon Jovi personified hair band hair.
