Would have been a great promo stunt for the Dolly Madison bakery.

To make George W. Bush, Hostess Ding Dongs would be the way to go.

I was trying to guess the two fads before clicking the link, and I came up with: The "Hope" poster of Obama... wearing a snuggie. I was close on one of them.

This rampant Obama fellatio has to end.

It took me a good six years to get sick of Bush jokes, and I'm already sick of Obama worship like three weeks in.

What a waste of food in order to celebrate someone that hasn't done anything in office.

Setion: I hate these Obama Lincoln comparisons. I really hope Obama is a better president than Lincoln.

I've heard the anti-new-deal talking points for a while now, but I think this is the first time I've seen anyone say that about Lincoln.

Out of curiosity, what did Lincoln do that was so horrible? Or is this one of those 'he didn't do enough' things?

Dr. Nick Riviera [recently expired TotalFark] 2009-02-15 07:27:35 PM
Why the hell does everyone want to say, "He's the next Lincoln!"? Am I the only person who paid attention in history class and remembers how things ended for Lincoln?

Please stop with the worship. He hasn't done anything yet, besides get elected. Only time will tell whether he's a great man, or even any good, at all. He deserves a fair chance, and I'm willing to give him that, but this constant inflation of expectations will only serve to raise perceptions to unreasonable, and impossible expectations.

"The mural had something for all tastes: Lincoln, on the right, was recreated in vanilla cupcakes with chocolate butter-cream frosting. Mr. Obama's likeness, on the left, was made out of chocolate cupcakes with vanilla butter-cream frosting. The stripes on the American flag backdrop were red velvet."

veryequiped 2009-02-15 07:45:58 PM
Lincoln wouldn't have turned a blind eye to the crap Obama has. Obama hasn't proven anything yet, slow down people before the backstab hurts even more.

Way to insult a great president like Lincoln

//No, I don't hate Obama, I'm just educated enough to see this.

Welcome to the modern, sound-byte driven political landscape: it's all about hero worship and villain-making. There's no time or room for intelligent, independent thought. It's way too easy to pretend that your favorite is the second coming of the messiah, and the "enemy" is the antichrist.

According to http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/ after less then a month in office, the Big O has kept seven of his campaign promises and has 22 of them in the works. Most politicians are still repaying funders at this point. This is out of 500 statements being tracked by this PolitiFact group. They track back progress based on multiple news sources.

You might not like what the President does, but he is doing something.

And that food wasn't wasted. It was donated and then eaten by visitors.

My mind translated it as pointless. I like that better.

But then I applied the word "pointless" to some of the things that people did to honor those I did vote for as well, so don't get whiny and offended. *grin*

No shiat.

All these comparisons between Barry and Lincoln have to stop.
Why?
1) There IS no comparison between the two, Abe was a great president
in office through some of America's darkest days and showed SUPERB leadership: Barry is just the president and been in office for less than a month and so far as screwed the American public with lies, broken promises and causing great harm to the nation, harm that will echo down through the years.
2) It is starting to reek of propaganda from a man who has done
NOTHING to garner such comparisons
3) Snarky comment omitted because of concerns of the NSA reading FARK.

You mean like the time that John Kerry said that "this nation now more divided than any time in our history?" which is simply retarded considering oh, I dunno, the 60s, the Civil War, The Revolutionary War, etc.
