Why would anyone that doesn't wear a Democrat Party pin want to play ball? You guys are just nasty to anyone who doesn't agree with you. It's like some stupid high school clique. BTW, We're a Republic, not a Democrazy. That means Rule of Law prevails, NOT mob rule. This isn't Venezuela.

Exactly. Only the dems are ever bad or nasty and everyone else are just poor picked on victims of persecution.

At least now the Republicans will be sincere when they offer up their Sunday prayers for Obama to fail. Because if he doesn't, the GOP is going the way of the Whigs, the Know-Nothings and the Greens.

I totally remember when the Dems threatened the nuclear option when the rule of law didn't go their way. They're just that nasty.

Regardless of what you think of the rest of it, just looking at the tax cuts. . .when Bush gave tax cuts to the wealthy, they were tax cuts. When they're aimed at the working and middle class, they're welfare! Genius!

Don't pick on the wealthy. If they are over taxed then how are they going to afford to buy those Senate Seats?

I think members of Congress should have a line-item vote, where they can vote for or against any section of a bill. Remove everything that doesn't have enough votes, and vote for the remaining sections. Continue until all the parts of the bill are voted for by a majority. Then you could hold them accountable for voting for or against a particular section of a thousand-page bill.

Though I have to admit, I *am* looking forward to the Saving Widows and Orphans While Giving Our Opponents Atomic Wedgies Act of 2012.

You've been programmed well, Comrade. Tell me something, if the roads and bridges are falling down, what happened to this 286.4 Trillion Dollars (new window)? don't even try to tell me the Republicans spent it somewhere else. Who, exactly, are the lying liars? That was just 4 years ago. I'd sure like to know where that money went, wouldn't you?

That seems to be your new mantra, since you post it in every farking thread. And, like everything else you post, it makes no sense and has no relevance to the topic.

What's more, let's also not forget that Obama's tax-cut plan in the recovery package is not only arguably bigger than previous cuts, but also better targeted.

In other words, an attempt to reward traditionally Democratic voters for their support. As the article goes on to say, it's not a tax cut at all in many cases. If you give $200 to somebody who owes no taxes you have not cut taxes by $200.

It has every relevance..too many people believe this is a democracy..it isn't. That's a big giant problem.

To be fair, the tax cuts aren't aimed at the wealthy, so why should the Republicans be for them?

Mordant [TotalFark] 2009-02-15 11:29:38 AM
many Republicans are probably worried that they may see some of the benefit now, instead of later when they are wealthy small business owners with plans to buy successful plumbing operations. You have to plan ahead for the probable future, after all.

Mob rule in a 52/48 slight majority stripped the marriage rights from gay people in California.

Cyborg77 2009-02-15 11:43:46 AM
But the tax cuts weren't given to the right people. Its all going to people that are going to spend it on food and rent rather than oil companies and military contractors.

Stay the course, Republicans! It's the only way to make the stupidest Americans (i.e. your precious 26% base) realize what utter pieces of shiat you are.

The rest of us figured it out back in the '90s.

Well, thank you, Mr. "Democrat [sic] Party", for being mature about this. Sheesh.

You guys have called Deomcrats terrorists for the past eight years, and now you whine about supposed Democratic nastiness like someone saying the Republicans voted against tax cuts. The horror, the horror.

Heh. That is some good spin. 1) They aren't exactly cuts (much is giong to people who don't pay federal income taxes to begin with) and 2) As a GDP grows, every future tax cut is generally bigger than the previous one.

Snarfangel: So are these tax cuts good or bad?

They are very similar to the $152 billion stimulus us back in February of 2008. We all know well that turned out.

... Dude. The sheer level of cognitive dissonance... It's mind blowing.

How can you even post that, knowing that your party of choice did the EXACT SAME THING except roughly fifty times worse when they were in power?

Seriously, isn't the hypocrisy even slightly troubling?

Saiga410 2009-02-15 12:01:58 PM
Yep and dems just voted for a large decrease in the taxes for the top 20%. In fact this almost took up 10% of the total spending and accounted for 25% of the tax cuts. Yaaa dems all for them fat cats.

========================

Yup! When republicans give money to the wealthy, it's good ol fashioned tax cuts.

When dems want to give money to the poor who need it, it's commie socialism.

Two four six eight. Everybody stimulate.
Ok, sorry, that's just rude.

Idea on how to stimulate spending in the economy...

Give the money to the Real Housewives of Orange County and let them go shopping.

We'll be solvent in a week!
