They had a song about a stripper too.

You, Lynard Skinnard-hat and
Me, little kitty
Sat across with a velvet jacket
Wild orange hair and dark, dark eyes
I gawked like a twelve-year-old - smitten
Carla the stripper,
straight from L.A.
You seem cool for a naked chick in a booth
Let's be pals some day
In other words,
Put some clothes on and call me

I don't get what kids see in this guy because he's not all that. How do I know? I have a 10-year-old athletic son. Do him...sure. Lust after him...not so much.

I'm not sure what you just said, but my interpretations are leaning towards "jealous pedophile".

meh, without Reagan and Ford their sound is going to be weak.

Um, you would do your 10-year-old athletic sun, but not in a lustful way? Creep.

Didn't expect to see this one in Fark. I just bought this download yesterday for my kids. 4 and under? My 4 year old and 7 year old both love it.

Here's the link to his website (with a few free mp3's): Link (new window)

I took a little nap where the roots all twist
Squished your rotten peach in my fist
And dreamed about you, Dipsy

Some bands I just don't like, and I move on. This one makes me want to break stuff. Mostly their hands.

And don't forget their groundbreaking re-make of "Video Killed The Radio Star" at a time when the world was yearning for a definitive version.

Don't knock a live Presidents show until you've seen it yourself. It ain't rocket science ...just a good ol' drunken rock and roll show with juvenile humor.

//back on tour this spring. Hooray Philly and Lancaster PA!

These guys were a staple while I tossed newspapers after school throughout the mid-nineties. Fun band!

Memes are trolling?

Glitchwerks 2009-02-15 10:58:31 AM
Guys, the 10 year old son bit is an attempt at creating a new meme. People are trying to push it just like posting the pic of Hitler 26 minutes before they were due at the gym to meet Happy Cat.

It's a pretty lame meme at that and not worth the effort responding. I'd just put the guys who use it on ignore, because they aren't clever enough to bother reading anyway.

Ok, I've seen about four different variations of this, where did it come from?

Some thread in Showbiz about an Eliza Du-something-or-other. Farkers were having a typical "hot or not" discussion and some dude said she had an ass like his athletic 10 year old son. I can't remember the name of the actress or whoever, sorry. It should still be up, was just a few days ago.

I believe that's a Hohner bass.

Knowing Chris Ballew, it's probably a goofy Teisco knock-off of some sort. In the early days of the Presidents, they'd take the stage with the cheapest 1960's guitars available.

Actually, if you look at the axes in that pic, the second acoustic is probably a Silvertone, there's a Kay or Teisco in the corner, an Airline Res-O-Glas (aka Jack White or JB Hutto model) and a hollowbody Norma I think. The SG is an Epiphone (Ballew has an endorsement deal with them). I'm not sure what the very first acoustic is, but I can guarantee you it ain't worth much.

Loves me some cheapo guitars.

Here's the link. (new window) It's been beaten like a dead horse by now, but I laughed for a solid minute when I read that.

Their debut album was fantastic. I still own it and listen to it daily.

Maybe that's just me though.

Agreed. They have a new album out, "These Are the Good Times, People" that captures the raw energy of the first.
