Lyle is the man!

God, Lyle is a genius... why the hell are bands like Coldplay so big when there are artists like Lyle toiling in what is virtual obscurity?

Perfect.

Also, the theme from my (ex) marriage.

Shhh.

Lyle's at just the right level of famous. He does okay for himself, designers comp him pretty much everything he wears on stage, and it's not a bank-breaker to see one of his shows.

STFU lest he become just another hundred-buck-a-ticket douche with an entourage.

Sheer awesomeness, gonna see him and John Hiatt tonight.

They are great together, and there's always a chance of a special guest. I got Garth Hudson on accordion at the the show I went to last February. Sweeeeet.

For the single Farkers, look up "She ain't pretty, she just looks that way" by the Northern Pikes.

This was our song at our wedding reception. My wife has a great sense of humor!

Funny, I was just thinking about this song a little earlier -- not even sure what brought it to mind. This, and "If I Had A Boat."

Gulper Eel, I don't think we have to worry about Lyle getting "too big" for us at this stage of things. Seems like his career has been pretty stable for some time now. Very cool on the Garth Hudson special guest moment, by the way.

Yeah, but... I've seen Lyle a few times over the past damned near twenty years.

He came through last year with Hiatt, Joe Ely and Gene Clark(I think). Tickets? $75.

This year, playing at the same place with ONLY Hiatt. Tickets?
$75.

So unless he's bringing out Dylan to do a duet of
'Can't you hear me knockin'?' this is probably the last time I see him in person.

That was probably Guy Clark, mfaby -- Gene's been dead for quite some time, so you didn't see him unless you stumbled into some crazy Phantom 309 zone. Guy's the one in the Townes Van Zandt documentary.

Don't forget - Lyle Lovett has also had "Dimebag" Darrell as a special guest during one of his tours in Texas.
