I find this headline... disturbing.

marvin gate. killed by his old man. totally changed soul music from pop dance music written by white people to intelligent thoughtful songs of importance such as what's going on.

This was the song my wife and I played for our dance at our wedding. Also my go-to karaoke choice.

If I would have listened to my day I would be wooing women with Seals and Crofts, chilled Lancer's lambrusco, and cheap weed.

Good thing I didn't listen to him.

Marvin is one guy who should have steared clear of his dad.

The drumming on the studio version of this song is just unreal. The tasteful fills really make the whole song.

That, and when Marvin is "threatenin' you" that he's about to get it on. Awesome.

Marvin started out as a drummer. Don't know if he drummed on any recordings.

"This is grown folks' music," says Melvin(Ving Rhames) to Jody (Tyrese) as he and Juanita sway to the sweet, world-weary sounds of Marvin Gaye.

BTW, he did a drum solo on that very concert from the music clip posted.

Bye.
