Dear Economy,

We've had some good times. But lately I just feel there's nothing between us, no hope. We've had a good run. In fact, it's been great! But it just isn't working out. Lately I've just gotten the impression you're unstimulated. Even a couple of fancy dinners couldn't salvage the love between us, so, here's a check for dinner. I'm sure you'll make some country very happy..

Signed,
Your loving constituents, The US.

MeinRS6: Someone save this country from these farktards.

Well, a whole 'nother set of farktards are responsible for getting us into this mess.

Things are bad right now. For instance, want to get a student loan? Tough. Want to refi your car loan, even if you've been a responsible consumer with a FICO score of 750-800? Too bad, so sad. Credit markets are frozen; ie, these banks are refusing to loan money. For years and years, they were happy to finance McMansions for Billy Bob and Suzie bringing in $50k a year, and now people who really need the money can't get it.

Me, I'm all for going all French revolution on their asses. Then we can start on the politicians. But priorities must be set.

Was it not the same farktards... the ones saying fannie and freddie were fine. I don't go to Barney Franks job and knock the cocks out of his mouth, why does he go to mine and take money from my pay check.

I like his views on energy independence, and the fact that he's taken concrete steps to lower his carbon footprint. You have to admit that's pretty neat. I just ignore the rest of the wharrgarbl.

Cute. Well, buddy, I don't know that we had another choice, except to let the country completely slide down the drain- which it still might. Nobody can absolve themselves of blame in this; everyone's got their hands in the pie. I'm confused as to why we're letting these robber barons from the financial sector get away with this shiat, and the politicians on both sides- the Democrats slapping pet projects in there, the Republicans playing obviously partisan games and doing things like stripping the whistleblower regs out of the bill (I assume so that nobody'll complain about wasteful spending so the Feddies can stop it- it's better politically if they can have some waste stories to play with).

But then, we always have let them get away with it, probably always will. But without this bill, we had a bleak future. Like I said, there's no money for college students, no money for business people to expand their businesses, for people to refinance or get new car loans. We've been coasting along so far, but that can only last so long.

I don't watch television. Note that I didn't call it TV. That's because TV is a nickname and nicknames are for friends and television is no friend of mine.

Making sure the business market is transparent and free from fraud is a good use of government.

Having the government come in and take control of the market is bad.

No one wants unchecked greed.

Yes but this omnibus bill is a disaster. I would have preferred they voted on each item and debated the merits of each. We need something, but we don't need this.

Did it have to be all or nothing? Some of things in there are just silly.

With the exception of the greedy who constantly fight for deregulation. And they are legion.

I think the stimulus is a necessary evil at this point but goddamnit, it shouldn't have gotten to this point. There were red flags all over the farking place that were ignored.

Since when is lying a fundamental part of capitalism? Greed, yes. Lying, No. There is a difference between the two.

Real Estate/Loan agents lied about the affordability of these loans, the ratings companies lied about the safety of these investments. Investment firms lied hen they said they reviewed these investments and agreed with the ratings companies about the safety of these investments.

Sounds like Fraud to me, which is already illegal.

If you can't access Bloomberg, you just aren't trying hard enough.

It's all out there. This is but a part of the overall program. If this was all we were doing Paul Volcker would have picked up his ball and gone home long ago.

People need to seriously relax, the worst part of this mess is behind us. We will lose more jobs, GDP will fall in the 1st, 2nd AND 3rd QTRs. If you wanted to freak out, last summer was your time.

Call Timmah a tax cheat all you want, he still understands how best to work through this mess than most. And YES he does suck at public speaking. He said everything Wall Street wanted to hear but it came out in the worst way possible. Stumbling, bumbling... He looked bad.

Can you wait 4 months? Jesus. Just be patient.
