With his bad heart, shouldn't he be cutting back on the caffeine? At any rate I hope he's enjoy it because I doubt they have a Starbucks at The Hague.

Liberals really can't read, can they?

Cheney's drink of choice, they told us, is skim latte.

Maybe I'm just tired, but what was wrong with what Bucky Katt said?

Indeed.

Nothing, actually. I had it in my head that Latte was just a milk based drink.

Bucky Katt, even though you are a dirty liberal and we will never see eye to eye on any political issue, I owe you an apology. I was wrong.

Now I shall go flog myself as penance.

A Republican who jumps to conclusion and runs off the deep end without looking first? You don't say...

I wonder if he gets to his car and pours it out and says "How long do I have to keep this PR crap up, this time this sludge almost touched me. Now get Jeeves to get me a proper latte"

If I was a Democrat I wouldn't apologize for it. I'd claim "bad upbringing" and wait for a check from the government. Or I would do what you are doing and ignore the whole picture in order to justify whatever weak argument I had.

It's telling that you don't note the apology because you don't want to. Why? Because it's an unfamiliar concept to you. Just like any personal responsibility.

Man, there he goes and loses what few points he earned towards being a cool vice president.

/Say what you want, shooting a lawyer in the face earned him some points.

Now the question is, who cares? Let it go, your Chosen One is in office now. You tried for 8 years to demonize Bush/Cheney/Rove and the only people you convinced were yourselves.

Just let it go, he's gone, get over it.

Cheney then goes back to the bunker and washes that latte down with the blood of newborn baby seals clubbed to death by his own hands. MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!1!

Or maybe it has less to do with party affliation and more to do with the fact that he's a dipshiat.

As much as I despise the man, I find this story quite disturbing:

We've found one of Dick Cheney's new undisclosed locations: the Starbucks on Chain Bridge Road in McLean, Va.
...
One Starbucks employee says the most remarkable thing about one of Cheney's recent visits, just last week, was that he had no security in tow - at least none that were conspicuous. But other times his security detail has been noticeable, another coffee shop worker tells us. "It's hit or miss," he says.

I'm sure the Secret Service will be immediately altering his morning routine should someone decide to roll the dice on being able to confront him up close and personal sans his security detail.
The NYT's motto is "All the news that's fit to print". Maybe this should be WaPo's motto too, because, this news isn't. It puts a public figure in potential peril by disclosing where he stops, when, and the nature of his security. They could have at least left the specific Starbucks location out.

Everyone has it wrong...Cheney was the Emperor, Dubya was Darth Vader. I mean, c'mon...the Emperor's the guy who's back on Coruscant, calling all the shots, while Vader is out, spreading terror.

Jeez, can't ya get ANYTHING right?

Meh, some public figures could really use a solid kick to the yambag. Heck, dick deserves to spend the rest of his miserable life breaking big rocks into little rocks with a lifetime of hard labor sentence so he'd be getting off easy.

Don't worry, there are a few Starfarks shops in the Hague, even an odd one in Scheveningen.

"Because they hate(d) our freedom", I believe was the reason given.

Cheney is the first beneficiary of the The Former Vice President Protection Act of 2008 which authorizes six months of Secret Service protection. The Secret Service has protected newly former vice presidents for the last 30 years anyway, but Congress suddenly felt the need to put it in writing. It costs $4 million this year.
