Subby's referring to the town hall style debate they had where McCain referred dismissively to Obama as "that one."

But yes, I'd love to see that practice abandoned.

hardly necessary. Tell me you think that the Republicans don't plan to spit in Obama's face no matter whay he says or does.

Yeah, Obama should get right on fixing that.

"I think that the majority of people understand that this was generational theft," McCain told Reuters.

No. This is picking up the pieces of the last eight years of generational theft.

That is a load of bullshiat. The Republicans went into this with no intention of working with Obama. Every time he conceded to one of their policy demands they came back with a brand new one.

They were acting like farking children holding their breath because they weren't getting their way. Well, fark them, they lost the election that means that they do not get everything that they want on every bill that comes to the floor.

Mordant: Tell me you think that the Republicans don't plan to spit in Obama's face no matter whay he says or does.

Not all of them. But I do have my GOP shiat list going.

Boehner
Vitter
L. Graham
McCain
Pence
McConnell
Bond
Kyl

I was giving Kantor the benefit of the doubt. But he got promoted to the list this week.

And yes, I have a Democratic list, too.

As long as that bipartisanship is with some party other than the Republicans. How about the Whigs? They're about as useful right now as McCain's crew.

Skail [TotalFark] 2009-02-13 04:26:09 PM
I love how Republicans think "bipartisanship" means "doing whatever the Republicans want." And then they don't vote for the bill, anyway. It makes my liberal ears smile, as much as ears can smile.

Bipartisanship goes both ways, so until the Republicans decide to get over their butthurt and compromise, McCain can shut his piehole.

What would the step below willingness to compromise be ? Maybe they should start there first and gradually get to the compromise stage in 2 or 3 years.

I don't have any idea if Chuck Todd is a conservative by any definition. When I hear the "whahhh first amendment !!" whine it triggers a reaction in me. I guess when I mention conservatib=ve it triggers something for you also.

Now, if I've answered to your satisfaction could you explain how I f*cking gave a "but-but Bush" ?

I hate how most Republicans only care about "bipartisanship" when they aren't in power anymore. The Bush administration took partisanship to new heights. They didn't give a flying fark what the opposition wanted on anything.

It's the same as their newfound emphasis on fiscal responsibility. Most Republicans in Congress didn't give a shiat about it when they were in power.

GAT_00 [TotalFark] 2009-02-13 04:38:08 PM
Yeah, I think you have to practice bipartisanship to be allowed to demand it, and McCain hasn't been bipartisan since 2005.

"That One" has made a HUGE effort to be open to bipartisan efforts. The Republicans in Congress have made a HUGE effort to spit in his face in thanks for it.

As a republican, I am ashamed by the partisan dickishness I've seen from my party in the past month. It's embarrassing.

It seems pretty clear that the only way we'll consider him adequately bipartisan is if he only does exactly what we want. And that's just childish.

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH The dems aren't being bipartisan with us and giving us everything we want!!!!

That's what it sounds like to me. Nothing but a bunch of whining and crying republican's upset because they have little to no control over anything now.

Deal with it. You lost McCain. Go eat some tapioca pudding.

unlikely: It seems pretty clear that the only way we'll consider him adequately bipartisan is if he only does exactly what we want. And that's just childish.

The best part is that even if he does everything like a puppet they can attack him for that too. It's predictable to the point where it's not worth playing.

There was a badass that one shirt young jeezy was wearing on the carson daily show a few months back. It was a gold outline of obama's head against a flat black shirt, had "that one" across the bottom. Can't find a pic but it looked cool.

Senator John McCain said on Friday that President Barack Obama should include Republicans in his plans sooner if he really wants their support after the bitter debate over the $787 billion economic stimulus bill.

wow
the gop still has no clue?
um
#1 you lost
#2 stfu already ....

the election was all about throwing you tards out of office

To be fair, though, I'm sure McCain has lost millions of dollars in this awful market.

Which still, of course, leaves him with millions of dollars.

I have to run, but didn't Obama specifically say on Monday that he DID reach out to Republicans early on? Oh wait, yes he did:

Now, just in terms of the historic record here, the Republicans were brought in early and were consulted. And you'll remember that when we initially introduced our framework, they were pleasantly surprised and complimentary about the tax cuts that were presented in that framework. Those tax cuts are still in there. I mean, I suppose what I could have done is started off with no tax cuts, knowing that I was going to want some, and then let them take credit for all of them. And maybe that's the lesson I learned.

Transcript of Monday's Press Conference (new window)

Sorry folks, I'm far more inclined to believe Obama over McCain. Too much of McCain's campaign was run on propaganda, half-truths, and some out & out lies. The Republican party has a habit of repeating the same things over & over again, regardless of the truth, in hopes that eventually someone will believe them.

What the fark is McCain talking about? Obama's stimulus plan created bi-partisan opposition to it during today's vote in the House.
