Just regular old Feinstein. That woman is pure evil.

I can't describe with words how much I hate that woman.

Well, since I've been hearing for weeks around here how everything in the stimulus bill will promote economic growth, I'm ready to hear - well, read - the spin on this one.

Dancin_In_Anson [TotalFark] 2009-02-12 05:21:23 PM
And yet, she keeps getting re elected...

You mean, Dianne Feinsten (D-IAF), right? :-/

Nabb1 [TotalFark] 2009-02-12 05:26:57 PM
On one level, Obama's bill is an effort to boost the American economy. On another, it's an opportunity for lobbyists to make a mockery American government.

I like the cut of this guy's jib.

Boo, hiss, Dianne.

Boo, hiss.

Yeah, we can be rid of her. Not enough positives to balance out the negatives.

I actually think she's a very good Senator. As a Californian, I'm quite proud of the two people we have sent to the Senate. But she's wrong on this.

aegisalpha [TotalFark] 2009-02-12 05:44:58 PM
You know, I wouldn't feel so bad if this headline wasn't almost word-for-word the same as the one I submitted yesterday that was rejected. That's just cold.

I think she spent about $11 on her last reelection and still won in a landslide. I do not know why.

It also includes millions for Comcast to spread its broadband tenticles to rural areas.

Morans who vote a straight ticket.

She gets pluses for gun control and environmentalism. Big negatives for this, supporting Hollywood on piracy, voting for FISA and the Patriot Act. Kick her out.

bobbette [TotalFark] 2009-02-12 06:01:57 PM
This is really dangerous. Take action, people.

You people posting in this thread - if you're in America, make a few phone calls. Write, email and call your senator, your representative, and the President - who supports net neutrality. It takes all of 30 seconds to find their public contact info.

Three calls, three letters - send both an email and a printout saying you oppose this and support net neutrality. It doesn't have to be a long message, but if thousands of people write in, it could help derail this.

I'd advise California Farkers to be especially assiduous in sending letters. After all, Feinstein has gubernatorial ambitions.

TeddyBallGame [TotalFark] 2009-02-12 06:14:42 PM
Her and Pelosi from CA? Nice job farkwads. Put the bong down for a while and get a grip Cali. You're farking it up for the rest of us.

I have no idea what net neutrality even means.

Nabb1: Well, since I've been hearing for weeks around here how everything in the stimulus bill will promote economic growth, I'm ready to hear - well, read - the spin on this one.

i don't think you've been hearing that at all, since a lot of people feel that a number of the tax cuts in the bill are most definitely not very stimulative.

DamnYankees [TotalFark] 2009-02-12 06:16:42 PM

It means we fund tennis and badminton equally.

Dancin_In_Anson: I for one am ready for my $13 per week raise!

Hey, for the first time since being a little kid I think that $52+ a month really does mean something. Anyone who doesn't, can send me their $13 a week and I promise I will spend it "for the good of the economy"...

wee [TotalFark] 2009-02-12 06:37:25 PM
GAT_00: She gets pluses for gun control

Um, no. Just no.

steelpeg: Anyone who doesn't, can send me their $13 a week and I promise I will spend it "for the good of the economy"...

But you won't. See, I have been told by people on this very site that people will only spend 18% of any direct benefit they might receive from the Gods...that translates to $9.36 per month per working individual getting injected into the economy...

I feel stimulated already!

Obdicut [TotalFark] 2009-02-12 06:55:14 PM

Do you feel that you are honestly representing what people have told you by making that statement?

Or are you deliberately simplifying what you have been told to make it seem foolish?

Or do you feel that perhaps you have not understood what people have told you?

RemyDuron 2009-02-12 07:16:52 PM
With liberals like this, who needs conservatives?

cchris_39 2009-02-12 07:18:16 PM
And you thought the Fairness Doctrine only applied to AM radio.

They intend to control all media, comrades.

Control the net, control radio, control the census. Sure a lot of control being proposed lately.

Such as Hate Facts Speech? I'm farked.

Corvus 2009-02-12 07:20:11 PM
From the outdated article:But lobbyists speaking with the Washington DC-based internet watchdog said that California's senior Senator is now hoping to insert this language via conference committee - a House-Senate pow-wow were bill disputes are resolved.

Too late, it's already out of conference. it is set in stone.

Can we get a green lit on a story about not going to war in Germany during WWII while we are at it?

Corvus 2009-02-12 07:21:29 PM

How is letting opposing points of view be expressed for 5 mins "controlling all media" exactly?

Day old news is a day old. (new window)

There's still a slim chance she could keep trying to ram it in, though. Ignore the imagery.

RemyDuron 2009-02-12 07:27:14 PM
So, is there any chance she could actually add this? Wouldn't it mean the bill has to go back through House approval? Wouldn't that be. . . immensely farking stupid?

torquestripe 2009-02-12 07:27:15 PM
No, this is a great turn of events.
Everything in the Trillion dollar stimulus bill is good for us!
No, really.

nvmac 2009-02-12 07:27:39 PM
The language 'allow for' doesn't sound like a mandate. Even so, it just sounds like policy inspection or sig matching IPS, not necessarily sniffing packets. She may have some legislation in mind in the great state of Californhigh-a that she can use this equipment for...

/I gotta getz minez, ya kno

Remember when we thought Ron Paul was a crackpot?

meat0918 2009-02-12 07:29:06 PM
Well, the child online protection act was ruled unconstitutional recently wasn't it? So this "reasonable network management" BS amounts to potentially unlawful censorship IMHO.

Why don't you gut the ability of America to host sites while you are at it Dianne. Lots of people make good money hosting sites, and off the traffic their sites get due to ad revenue.

I'm sure that removing net neutrality won't have any unintended consequences for Cisco, Sun, or Microsoft.
