I can't even imagine an American national leader making a reference to Immanuel Kant in a newspaper. Both Obama and McCain talked about American 20th century theologian Reinhold Niebuhr in their books, but that's about it. And if a President ever said anything about Immanuel Kant out loud there's be a great big

I met some while travelling in Peru and they were great people. Very sweet and soft-spoken. Of course, they were Christian missionaries, so maybe not exactly typical tourists... But I've never met a Canadian guy that I didn't like.

Well, perhaps you're comfortable with a dual-citizen chief of staff (who, during the '91 Gulf War, served not in the American military, but the Israel Defense Force) co-sponsoring (first go-around in '07) one of the most onerous gun control Acts to ever come down the pike:

News Flash: criticizing the Mossad, its agents and actions is not antisemitic.

That Israel/Mossad spies on America is a matter of historical record.

Someone with dual citizenship/dual loyalty, who chose during a war to defend a country other than our own, whose father was in a Israeli group the British considered to be "terrorists," sitting at the right hand of our new president, makes me uncomfortable - whether he's a Buddhist, or an atheist or Catholic or Jewish.

What does gun control have to due with the fact that he's Jewish? Just means he's really liberal. Then again, this is truther land I'm talking about, I'm sure there's a connection somewhere.

And he volunteered for the IDF, which is a bit different than serving. Working in quarterstaffing, painting, etc. Civilian jobs when Israel was on high alert from the whole Saddam shooting missiles thing.

Which still has nothing to do with him being a secret Mossad double agent bent on controlling America. That's just demonizing him because he's Jewish.

Hey now! No matter how much it sucks, you cannot claim that Vegas constitutes torture, and it's not even mentioned in the Geneva Conventions.

Just means he's really liberal. Then again, this is truther land I'm talking about, I'm sure there's a connection somewhere.

So you're saying there are no liberal gun owners who value the 2nd Amendment?

And he volunteered for the IDF, which is a bit different than serving. Working in quarterstaffing, painting, etc. Civilian jobs when Israel was on high alert from the whole Saddam shooting missiles thing.

While Americans (Rahm is presumably an American, yes?) were fighting and dying in Iraq...he skates off the Israel to ostensibly work on truck maintenance or something? I find that highly insulting of a government official - an AMERICAN government official.

It's enough to suggest he cares more about Israel than he does about the U.S. That concerns me.

Which still has nothing to do with him being a secret Mossad double agent bent on controlling America. That's just demonizing him because he's Jewish.

No, that's raising the suspicion (about which there is plenty to read on the InterWebs - all lies, I'm sure) that he's in direct contact with the Mossad, and because of Israel's record of spying on America for decades, having someone that highly connected and obviously devoted to a foreign country in the president's office all day concerns me.

(I happen to believe Israel and her supporters exert WAY too much influence in Washington over our foreign policy and that America has been suffering for a long time because of it.)

I've lived within 2 hours of the Canadian border for almost 50 years, and I've never seen behavior of this kind. Maybe Canada is just like the US - the people in the West are cool, and those in the East are assholes (since we're generalizing and all...).

As for Rahm Emanuel, I've never wondered where his last name came from, but I have sure as hell wondered where his first name came from. I've pretty much ruled out the possibility that he is named after Quark's nephew, so now I'm stumped.

You prove the the point that TFers try to make. Cuba's economic situation is not because of America's embargo. They have the entire world to trade with. Their problem lies with their government and economic systems.

Conjecture and truther paranoia. Who suspects him of being a foreign agent? Only people like you do. Obviously Clinton and Obama don't, who are, like, really in the know about these kinds of things. Unless you believe them to be Zionist patsies. Which you probably do.

While Americans (Rahm is presumably an American, yes?) were fighting and dying in Iraq...he skates off the Israel to ostensibly work on truck maintenance or something? I find that highly insulting of a government official - an AMERICAN government official.

He wasn't a government official in 1991, he was a campaign worker. And he was in Israel for 'a few weeks'. Besides, what could a private citizen do? Grab a gun and head to Iraq?

No, that's raising the suspicion (about which there is plenty to read on the InterWebs - all lies, I'm sure) that he's in direct contact with the Mossad, and because of Israel's record of spying on America for decades, having someone that highly connected and obviously devoted to a foreign country in the president's office all day concerns me.

Where is this proof that he's in direct contact with Mossad? Again, it's truther conjecture. And you can't have a good truther conspiracy without Jews.

So basically, since he went to Israel for a few weeks as a private citizen to grease some trucks, that means he's a Mossad double agent bent on disarming American citizens. And Obama and Clinton are in on it.

You're a fruit cake.

Next thing I remember is tasting blood and 2 pvts. standing over me calling my name." ...[O]ne drill sergeant had called Handman "Juden" - the German word for Jews. Another demanded he remove his yarmulke, which Handman wore with his uniform, while eating in a dining hall.
