The average guy in the neighborhoods is getting screwed while he drive around in Jaguars tried to sell a Senate seat pretending to be on the side of the people.

Even though Jack Ryan may have been corrupt, the whole senate debacle had nothing to do with corruption. Quite possibly he was the only Republican to ever get in trouble for trying to have sex with his wife.

I want to see if he'll actually write a book, or if he'll have an "accident" before anything comes of this.

And yes, all Illinois politicians are corrupt on some level. Hell, my smallish hometown had mayors getting kickbacks.

In the grand tradition of Illinois politics, he probably assumed they'd back him up and offer party protection. Unfortunately, it would've tarnished the party--and the Obama administration--further. So he's a sacrificial lamb who will probably not face any prison time; heck, he won't even apply for unemployment.

It will interesting to see how this plays out.
