And if he'd gotten a royalty every time Chris Berman connected that song with this dude, he could have bought both Fleetwood AND Mac.

Yeah, mention Fleetwood Mac in casual conversation now. Most kids would think it's a new McDonald's hamburger.

I don't get the submittter's point. I remember that song, good slow dance thing for encouraging that chic in the bar to go home with you. The girls still look pretty hot in the off-the-shoulder tops, which were so easily pulled down to unleash the liberated, braless boobies of the late seventies.

Sounds like this.

You know he's coming back.

Bob Welch should have given Dion his hat back.

Somehow, I think I had three copies of that album/cassette.

It's not Valerie Bertonelli, it looks like her though BTW I submitted this 2 years ago with a better headline!

You didn't notice the porn stache, awful hairstyles, and horrendous glasses?

The late Warren Zevon didn't look too much different at the time. He sounded a whole lot better though.

Check out Bob's website (bobwelch.com) and make sure to wear your tinfoil hat.

I had this album when it came out---"Sentimental Lady" was big too. I also remember getting tired of hearing "the guy who left Fleetwood Mac too soon" story.

I'm still in mourning over the loss of the teal eyeshadow. I actually liked the "layers and wings" look of the 70s. On girls, anyway. On guys not so much unless you were a member of the Partridge Family or a Hardy boy. But I'll put Valerie Bertinelli or just about any other teen starlet of the era up against what passes for hot these days.

/and get off my lawn!

How the hell did Valerie Bertinelli get set up on a date with Dr. Bombay?

Nobody's mentioned the name of the album, "French Kiss." Just dripping with sexuality.

If you had played me this song anytime in the past 30 years and asked me to guess who did it, I would've put cash money down on it being the Steve Miller Band. Sounds like it came straight off the "Abracadabra" album.

/the presence of a string section is the musical equivalent of carbon-dating -- it guarantees the some was made somewhere between 1974-'79.

Heh. I played "Ebony Eyes" on a jukebox just last weekend.

I always thought the vocals on the first few lines sounded like Ernie from Sesame Street.
