Gawd how I hate the way they now insert half a dozen songs into every single farking television show, even the farking soap operas.

Out of ideas? Just show a stupid montage and play a song.

Trivia fact, Springsteen's only #1 single as a songwriter is Manfred Mann's Earth Band's "Blinded by the Light." Springsteen attributes the success of that version to the singer's enunciation of "deuce." (It sounds like "douche")

I remember seeing an interview with this band. When asked "What The Fray is" one of the members put out his cupped hand and blew. I am assuming he was trying to say something like "We are dust in the wind" or something. They earned my hatred. Dont hate their music, never heard it, just kinda hate them.

What I never understood was why they altered that whole line...in the Springsteen original, he sings, "cuttin' loose like a deuce, another runner in the night," but in the Manfred Mann version it goes, "revved up like a deuce..." WTF?

Actually this is wrong.

His first and only #1 single was 'Hungrey Hearts'. Manfred Mann's song never went to #1, at least not nationally.

And regarding the article: good.

How are they anonymous? They're not exactly Burial.

Nor are they alternative. Well, I guess they fall under the Grammy definition of alternative. Well, I guess I don't even know what the fark constitutes "alternative" anymore.

Agreed, but I do love the way the music interacts with the story in House. Got turned on to a few decent artists by googling the episodes.

As far as lawns go, I was a big fan of Miami vice, which, to my knowledge, started this whole "insert fairly dramatic music to augment weak actors and/or script" thing. Side note - my mom wouldn't let me watch it because it was "too violent." Which is hilarious by today's standards. Jesus, just the other day I saw some poor bastard get disemboweled at like 4 in the afternoon. Anyway...
