Amused.

Don't worry, there's plenty of great material coming out now.

Diogenes [TotalFark] 2009-02-11 10:27:22 AM
"You had me at 'We're farked.'"

Good stuff. Surely will all be forgotten the next time Stewart makes a crack at a Republican.

Take the long view, folks.

Gwendolyn [TotalFark] 2009-02-11 10:33:51 AM
I just skimmed through the economic stimulus plan....So it's a bunch of stuff that would help me on my taxes next year but we make about $10,000 to much to get the full effect of anything.

There are already two college credits (for about that much) but you can't claim both. Is this just going to be a 3rd one? oh and raising PELL grants by $281. Whoopdedoo. You have to be poor as fark to qualify for those anyway.

Gwendolyn [TotalFark] 2009-02-11 10:34:52 AM
shiat I meant to quote GaryPDX in that post. The "stimulus" is going to give a lot of material that's for sure.

pixistick 2009-02-11 10:36:35 AM
Actually that was quite funny.

Love the pause....uhh....pause part.

Gwendolyn [TotalFark] 2009-02-11 10:41:29 AM
Well at least Obama doens't pack in his town halls with approved people. Unless he wanted someone to ask that question. 0.o

absoluteparanoia 2009-02-11 10:51:20 AM
There's a similar video with Bush doing the "uh" thing somewhere. I couldn't find it.

I'm glad that comedians are trying again. It's been too easy for 8 years.

That was quite hilarious! I enjoyed the dig on the washington post.

Yes you can, if you have two students in college. The HOPE is for freshman and sophmores, but the lifetime learning can be for anyone.

Stewart is an infadel!

lexnaturalis 2009-02-11 10:56:48 AM

If you have two kids in college you have way more financial problems than a $2500 tax credit. lol

/will have two kids in college at the same time starting 2016 *cry*

DarnoKonrad 2009-02-11 11:00:38 AM
Well, ah, I, ah, think that's, ah, pretty funny, with, ah, um, ah or, ah, it could be funny if ah, well, ah, it's important, to ah, look to ah, the future.

...who's in college now? you? take the LLC.

Also, once your kids are both in college your expected family contribution gets cut in half. It doesn't totally make up for it, but it takes some of the sting out.

If you want to die of alcohol poisoning.

It was pretty funny, but then again, I've always made fun of Obama, even when I campaigned and voted for him (because, well, there is plenty to make fun of). Making fun of politicians, even the ones you like, is like shooting fish in a barrel.

thenateman 2009-02-11 11:03:47 AM
It doesn't take long to develop an overarching opinion about a president, then perceive all their actions to confirm that opinion. Bush II was "stupid." Bush I was a "wimp." Clinton was a "womanizer." Reagan was "senile."

Sorry folks, but Obama is "boring."

I also find it strange that the most invigorating and incredible speaker America has seen in a generation is somehow classified as "boring". He's boring to people like O'Reilly, and that's a great thing.

This is UNPOSSIBLE, i had it on good authority as late as yesterday, from some of the Farkers here that Stewart was a left wing schill who would never make fun of Obama.

Fark you Stewart, rot in hell! You and your ilk are responsible for putting this damned commie in office and now we're all paying out the ass for it.

Crystal Girl [TotalFark] 2009-02-11 11:08:27 AM
The local morning DJs are incorporating drops from Obama reading the "Audacity of Hope" into their show, usually timing it so "Obama" is interrupting them. So far it is working quite well

Anybody who bothers to actually watch Jon Stewart knows he makes fun of everyone. Only people who can't handle being made fun of think he works for "the other side."

America is not used to a President who thinks before he opens his mouth.

ref:President Shrub.

in fact, Americans are not used to seeing anyone who actually thinks. Americans are generally dumbfukkks who watch too much TV and drink too much beer.

I disagree that he's being classified as boring, as much as O'Reilly wants to make that name stick. No one else seems to raise that as a serious long term criticism.

Bill-O's thing is that he actually LIKES when politicians distill complex ideas into sound bites. His job depends on him being able to take sides on the "locked box" v. "fuzzy math" debate. If he has to wade through a 3 minute, nuanced answer, it is literally costing him viewers who are there to soak up the vitriol.

Most people seem to see Obama as an incredibly impassioned speaker, who actually, deeply, reaches people. That's about as far from boring as you can get.
