I, for one, am glad that a vanguard of self-important wentzs stand vigil, ever alert to assign aesthetic value and hipness to everything, while ridiculing those who tear from the fray and make their own value judgments. I find Coldplay's music mostly pleasing to the ear.

Their first album was great apart from one godawful single. Second and fourth pretty OK. No matter how pretty OK you are, if you get big enough someone out there is going to hate you with the fury of a thousand suns.

But at least they're still better than Nickelback and less cheeseball than Van Halen.

At the beginning I was all "meh" but now i really like them.

As long as Fallout Boy is still releasing albums under the 48 different band names they have so that kids can pretend they like more than one band while listening to the same crap over and over, they have no right to whine about Coldplay.

And their last couple of albums are better than anything "independent band guy who's going to show up here to tell you not to feed the corporate machine" is listening to.
