I think these need to be repeated. The Republicans control nothing now. They bought on yet another Depression. They are worthless and the only thing saying any different are media outlets owned by Republicans designed to spout talking points as fact.

Plus, squealing for Jesus when you get your ass handed to you on two separate occasions (and that result in electing the first African-American president after Bush's pandering to racist hick America) means that your party is over. Suffer, Republicans, suffer and die.

Regardless of cycles Reagan's "trickle-down" economics have only succeeded in making the rich richer while keeping the poor poorer.

If paying more taxes for making more money discourages you from earning more, well you're probably an idiot.

That's an interesting way to describe Keynesian economics. Talk about framing the debate. If you don't like how the debate is going, change the subject. Typical GOP strategy. We are on to you now, it's not going to work anymore.

By the way, the economic theory that replaced Keynesian about 30 years ago is non-functional right now. Interest rates are at zero and it's not helping. This is why Obama is turning to an old theory at a time when the operating economic theory has failed to stop the recession in it's tracks.

I have absolutely no idea if stimulus package is going to help. What is happening is a real life science experiment. The two other times in history this has been tried in the industrialized world (the New Deal and Japan's lost decade), it was NEVER tried on a scale that took the theory at it's complete word. It was always tried by the same administration that also tried to be fiscally conservative, so they were always half hearted.

From what I understand, we will know approximately 18 months after the money has started being spent if one of two things happens: 1. Massive inflation making the recession significantly worse 2. We pull out of a major recession before it becomes a permanent resetting of the entire economy.

This is going to be great.
