I was listening to NPR this morning on the way to work, and I heard some douchebag from Billboard actually refer to Li'l Wayne as, "Today's Elvis." I'm not even a huge Elvis fan, but JESUS, that pissed me off. I actually walked into work angry.

If some enterprising person were to head to Graceland with a shovel and attach generator coils to the ends of Elvis' casket, I'm guessing that based on that one statement alone, the spinning could power Memphis for a week.

reminds me of this quote:

They say in any other industry, you know, you're supposed to do better than the past ... but when you say, 'I want to be Elvis,' they say, 'What's wrong with you?'

Elvis stole other people's music and was clinically insane.

So I can't say the Lil Wayne comparison is entirely without merit.

i saw a jonas brothers music video on the tv the other day and it was easily the worst pop/rock song i've heard in a decade.

nothing good about it at all. no hooks. no good vocals. mediocre music performance. bad lyrics.
i swear the girls just like 'em cuz of their looks.

Wrong_Intentions: It's a great day for America, subby.

Okay maybe subby wasn't referencing Craig Ferguson. Please tell me I'm not the only one who heard the last part of that headline in his voice?

This song right here, is dedicated to the president of the United States of America
Y'all might know him as George Bush
But where I'm from, lost city of New Orleans... we call him this

[Ray Charles sample:] Georgia.........

Now
This song is dedicated to the one wit the suit
Thick white skin and his eyes bright blue
So called beef wit you know whofark it he just let him kill all of our troops
Look at the bullshiat we been through
Had the nubians sitting on top they roofs
Hurricane Katrina, we should've called it Hurricane (Georgia) Bush
Then they telling y'all lies on the news
The white people smiling like everything cool
But I know people that died in that pool
I know people that died in them schools
Now what is the survivor to do?
Got to no trailer, you gotta move
Now it's on to Texas and to (Georgia)
They tell you what they want, show you what they want you to see
But they don't let you know what's really going on
Make it look like a lot of stealing going on
Boy them cops is killers in my home
nubian shot dead in the middle of the street
I ain't no thief, I'm just trying to eat
Man fark the police and president (Georgia) Bush
So what happened to the levees, why wasn't they steady
Why wasn't they able to control this?
I know some fok' that live by the levee
that keep on telling me they heard the explosions
Same shiat happened back in Hurricane Betsy
1965, I ain't too young to know this
That was President Johnson but now
but it's president (Georgia) Bush

Huh, he's not nearly as annoying when he's just being ordinary, instead of being 'Lil Wayne'. Even seems charming.

That site lamed out.

They have this for the transcript:
2) In these tough time Americans appreciate the chance to watch music people kick each other's asses.

What he actually said was:
In these tough times Americans will appreciate the chance to watch rich people kiss each other's asses for three hours
