To be fair, it was hard to get Jabba the Hut at the last minute to sing backing vocals and the Imperial Walkers were on the fritz due to the cold. This is simply what it was supposed to be like if things had worked out like they were supposed to.

The hat was just to distract everyone from the fact that she cannot sing anymore and you can't understand anything she says. Seriously, I'm a big Aretha fan, but she needs to hang it up and fade away somewhere. She isn't doing her legacy any good, it's sad.

I dunno. I kinda think this would make sense. I know that tempratures seriously fark with musicians, and I can see how this performance wouldn't have been her best work. Why would you release something that was done in adverse conditions, when you can redo it in the warmth of your studio? I'd prolly do something like that, and put the original on as a b-side.
