pissing oneself at a Beatles show was considered de rigueur

I wasn't aware of that. I asked my mom if this is true because she's from that generation, and she looked at me like I was insane.

yeah, 40 years can turn something into mythological proportions, uh?

He must be so proud, no that he's discovered mixed metaphors.

Uh yeah. My mother grew up in London in the 60s. I've heard all about the Beatles craze. Pissing? I'm sure it happened, because bladder control can go right out the window for some people with the right kind of excitement, but I'm also CERTAIN that's not what "not a dry seat in the house" meant.

/Would still kill to go back in time to a Beatles concert in ~'64

"In the 1960s, pissing oneself at a Beatles show was considered de rigueur"

Ah, how about NO!

Being an old fart, I can assure you this statement is nonsense.

/Saw Metallica half a dozen times, including last month.
//Never peed at their show.

I'm guessing that when saying 'not a dry seat in the house' when refering to a metallica show the liquid would be the auditory induced diarrea caused by hearing the band.

If peeing your pants is cool, then I'm Miles Davis.

No, Bon... but that's still a better guess than urine.

Who are these "Beatles" you speak of?

From what I understand, more than a few hysterical teenage girls pissed themselves at Beatles concerts in the '60s. It's not that it was the cool thing to do or anything, but enough people would get caught up in the frenzy that all sorts of control went out the window.
