In other Birmingham news, local band Broadcast was seen rolling their eyes.

Ill take some Sabbath over Oasis any farking day

Sabbath music is awesome BECAUSE Birmingham is so dreary. I remember Ozzy in an interview saying when sabbath formed, that all the bands he knew where singing about rainbows, and putting flowers in your hair and all that hippie shiat and he just coudln't relate. Hence why they forged ahead with what felt was their current mood and surroundings at the time

and what a beautiful sound it makes

Rev. Skarekroe: Who's Rob Haltford?

He's a dude from Birmingham, AL. He had this band called Joe Bob Priest.

Dude, I've lived in Birmingham for years and never knew those bands were from here. I always thought they were British.

Wait, did you mean the OTHER Birmingham?

Just came in to point out the misspelled name.

There's this little known group called Led Zeppelin that came from Birmingham...

Supposedly one of the reasons why Manchester has a bigger music scene is because A&R staff are primarily London-based, and they would prefer to visit Manchester as they would stay in a hotel overnight on expenses, whereas Birmingham would mean catching the last train back to London.

Mick Harris rules the universe and we are all mere passengers.

So long as he's not doing drum n bass. He's made the most boring attempts ever at that.

What did you think of his dubstep stuff, btw?

Having played the 'expenses' game, I could totally see it.

He's got dubstep stuff?

/Find scorn to be quite boring, but very heavy in the low end (which is pretty much dubstep in a nutshell, right?)

He's doing dubstep too? Clue me in, along with mekkab, please!

And I agree with you on his Quoit stuff, it's generally weak, except his "Properties" CD. Holy Jeebus does that thing rock my world! Seven tracks of orgasm. If you haven't heard it, you may want to give it another chance, preferably at full volume and driving in a car at a high rate of speed.

I'll check that out but you're dead right on Quoit. It's a snooze fest and I'm someone who generally loves boring as hell music.

As for his dubstep album, it was Stealth.

Not a bad album by any means, but I preferred his droney brand of hip hop/dub/breaks. Stealth is a bit on the wobble side of dubstep. Jack Dangers did a dubstep album too, btw. I'm more of a Hyperdub and Skull Disco fan meself.

Oh, snap! I have that album! I love it.

So that's dubstep? I just can't keep up with the subsubsubsubgenres anymore. These young kids today what with their dubsteps and their hula hoops... If I had a lawn, I'd be telling people to get off it.

Yeah, it gets pretty ridiculous. It's a decent example of dubstep, but check out Burial and Soundboy Punishments for what I feel is a better view of the abstract dubstep scene.

Saying "abstract dubstep scene" pretty much makes me look a hipster Wentz, but, honest, I swear I'm not.

Wow, I'm really digging this Appleblim feller. I think I'll search for some more Skull Disco stuff.

You mentioned that you like boring music: well, do I have a site for you! It's in my profile. Please to enjoy. It runs the gamut, so good luck. Do you make music too?
