That was pompously amusing.

What about the douche from Radiohead or God Damned Billy Corgin?

Cewley [TotalFark] 2009-02-04 12:41:38 PM
glaringly missing: ted nugent.

floorpie 2009-02-04 12:41:42 PM
No Chad Kroeger? This list fails.

darch 2009-02-04 12:43:47 PM
The writer lost ALL credibility when he stated that U2's "Pop" was "well done".

MiamiBlues 2009-02-04 12:45:43 PM
No John Legend?
No James Blunt?

Fail

hooks4feet 2009-02-04 12:48:02 PM
Loved the Ol Dirty Bastard and unicorn thing.

I agreed 100% with this list. I would have to add Billy Corgan and Scott Stapp to that list as well.

hockeyfarker [TotalFark] 2009-02-04 12:49:04 PM
As long as it had Chris Martin, this list is a winner.

DinsdalePiranha 2009-02-04 12:49:29 PM
No Springsteen?

/Right. Shiat splatters.

H31N0US 2009-02-04 12:49:46 PM
1: um, ok
2: who?
3: yup
4: no, out of pity. She makes the landlady in Kingpins look desirable.
5: who?
6: anybody who sings on an album like Appetite gets a pass
7: anybody who sings on an album like Joshua Tree gets a pass
8: punch repeatedly, kick, punch, elbow, biatch slap

Her inclusion in the Black Eyed Peas may have rejuvenated the band's career, but it completely watered down their style for the mainstream.

Yeah, because they were so hardcore and underground before that.

The key word here was "musicians".

Daron Malakian for becoming a junkie (my interpretation of events) and canceling the Scars on Broadway tour and breaking the band up after one album. Hope he gets his act together.

I would line up to punch them in the face too.

hooks4feet: Billy Corgan

Giggity. I would not punch him, as he graciously allowed me to throw up in his sink once. But he's not the most affable chap on the planet anymore.

Lenny Kravitz

I actually liked his first 2/3 albums (two or three, not two thirds of the first album), but he has progressively gotten worse since then. Even when you think it can't get worse (Fly Away), it gets worse (American Woman).

Without Kanye West, this list is a complete waste of time. That guy needs a punch with a concrete fist that's about the size of a cannon ball.

Daron Malakian for becoming a junkie and not overdosing, which would have spared the world from any further (my interpretation of events) and canceling the Scars on Broadway or more absolute shiatty "music" from SOAD.tour and breaking the band up after one album. Hopefully he never gets his act together.

FTFM

This.

It doesn't have to be a beat down or anything. I just want to see him get an open-handed slap across the face just to watch him cry like a little girl.

Nope. He gets a punch in the head for being a hipster.

Add:

Springsteen (not because I don't like his tunes, but because he gets all political at concerts)
Madonna
Chad Kroeger
Sheryl Crow (after I fark her, that is - See Springsteen)
Celine Dion (aim for the chin - you CAN'T miss!)
Billy Joel
Elton John
Paul McCartney
Brett Michaels
Sebastian Bach

I'm sure I could think of more, but this'll be enough to make your knuckles sore.

Heh,

I went to school with the Girl Talk guy...he was actually in a senior project group with me in one of my classes. I was unaware he got into music.

So, it a generational thing or an Internet tough guy phenomenon that a lot of online "journalism" is essentially; "If it's popular, it sucks"? Inherently every media-related Fark thread descends into the same "OMG, Coldplay, Paul Blart, <insert pop culture reference here>, sucks and if you like it you are a moran" but where does the hatred come from? Does anonymity expose true feelings without the constraints of peer pressure or does it simply allow us to piss of the guy next to us without fear of repercussion or actual necessity to defend our faux-positions?

And isn't it ironic that the authors FTFA actually used the word pompous to describe Bono... can you read your own writing??

/your favorite band sucks
//now get off my lawn

TheKingOfMexico: Without Kanye West, this list is a complete waste of time.

Putting Kanye West in with a list of musicians is like putting the guy who writes the "side orders" menu at McDonalds in with a list of novelists.

KernLead 2009-02-04 02:49:24 PM
Glenn Frey? Last time I heard from him was back when MTV was playing music videos... a decade or two ago.

Kaeishiwaza 2009-02-04 02:49:25 PM
Fred Durst and Ted Nugent were obviously missing. Chris Martin got some respect back from me after being on Extras, but not a lot.

Yes , yes and I'll give Liam a pass as I find his sad antics amusing.

I believe it. However is stuff is freaking awesome. I attribute the nakes dancing to lots of drugs.

NonlinearOffice 2009-02-04 03:27:13 PM
No Prince? Really? I'm not going to argue musicianship, but good god does that man deserve a good punch to the face.

Necrosis 2009-02-04 03:29:46 PM
Kaeishiwaza: Fred Durst and Ted Nugent were obviously missing.

Yeah, but Durst doesn't do anything anymore, or at least nothing anybody ever hears about. He isn't worth wasting a slap anymore. Ted is just a washed-up loser ranting to his fellow morons. He's a douche/wentz, but better just ignored.

matthew_tray 2009-02-04 04:07:50 PM
1. Kanye
2. Axl
3. Wentz
4. Stapp
5. Durst
6. Nugent
7. Ulrich
8. Liam and Noel

You may now end the thread.

Darkwing: "OMG, Coldplay, Paul Blart, <insert pop culture reference here>, sucks and if you like it you are a moran" but where does the hatred come from?

From Chris Martin being a raging douchebag, maybe?

gamacrit 2009-02-04 05:24:58 PM
Didn't Fred Durst go away like ten years ago? Odd that he's still on so many of your minds.

Damn. I can understand not being a fan but wishing death seems like a bit much. It isnt like SOAD is in your face all the time. IF you dont like it, it is pretty easy to avoid.
