Zoning officers like to think of their towns as little fiefdoms they get to run however they like.

And a restoration is a cut & dried issue. Even changing the wording on a sign is protected.

Looks like the sign was originally painted early enough for it to be historic restoration. I personally love looking at the old ads that used to be painted on buildings-it's interesting to see what some of the slogans used to be as well as some of the prices.

I think the parents are just terrified that the kids may remark on the slogan & that they'll have to have something that resembles a parenting discussion with their children. Heaven forbid they have to actually TALK to their children.

Actually, 25th street is MUCH better than it used to be. Better stores, street lighting, parking, cleaner nearby streets like Wall, the Union Station, and the Junction not too far away. It's trying to have a small Park City main street feel, and so far, it's doing pretty good.
