Maple if they aspen him nicely to cut back on use it might not be the root of such problems. Or they could just ask the local HOA branch to intervine, if that doesn't work out they could leaf the neighborhood.

His neighobours certainly wouldn't pine for him if he moved.

FTA: George-Adams kept a five-page, single-spaced diary on her computer, which she claims is a record of the bad behavior.

Wow. Ap-pear-antly she's not been getting any of the good wood lately.

It's just to make sure he won't palm his behaviour off on anyone else. It should help to spruce up the neighbourhood

That's why I only use Log from Blammo.
It burns crisp and clean, with no caffeine.
My neighbor also has a boiler like this but he's a lumberjack, and he's ok.

You never want to get your ash beat by a lumberjack.

Ok, for those that are PRETENDING to get it, but don't...
The ruckus started over an outdoor furnace, and there is an advertisement for an outdoor furnace on the page.
And don't pretend you caught it before I said anything...

Towns in central/western Massachusetts have been banning wood boilers by enacting setback regulations that are impossible to comply with.

The joke goes:

Two tree are talking about one their parentage. They can't figure out if he's the son of a beech or the son of a birch. So they decide to ask old Grandfather Oak, the oldest and wisest tree in the forest. They ask him "Is he the son of a beech or the son of a birch?" Grandfather Oak answers:

"I don't remember your mother but I remember your grandmother. She was the best piece of ash in the forest!"

Yeah, these outdoor wood furnaces can be a big ol' nuisance if they're not done right- mainly, you need to make sure the top of the chimney is situated such that its smoke goes over the rooftops, even in strong winds. Aside from that, though, they're farking awesome- at the house I lived in in college and for a few years afterward in rural, appalachian Ohio was built in 1814. It was a big, pioneer- built farmhouse, and the landlord (who also lived there) kinda got tired of paying as much as $500/ month for propane during the winter -us renters' rent was utilities included.(it would probably cost over $1,000 to heat the place now with propane) So, we put one of these things in- did the install ourselves. Wood can be had for next to nothing in that area because people are always clearing land, and there's always dead trees around, so you can get wood for the cost of delivery. All you do is cram a few logs into the thing every couple days(daily if it's really cold, say, 5 degrees or down)- no splitting necessary- and the thing heats water to 180 degrees, which is then piped into the house to a heat exchanger mounted in the propane furnace. The furnace's fan is controlled by the thermostat, with a second thermostat that will kick on the propane if the boiler goes out, and this huge, uninsulated house is heated for like $30- $70 per month.

What Greek said.

Done right and if you have cheap wood available, these things are very good. Through, you'll always have the occasional idiot misusing them, doing them badly, or using them to burn misc. debris.

A douchebag hillbilly neighbor of one of my dad's friends used to burn tires in his on occasion.

Zuel 2009-02-01 02:25:19 PM

bibitte 2009-02-01 05:15:25 PM
...all this old technology is making a come-back. Imagine what's going to happen when someone figures out how Tesla was able to power an electric car using energy from the sun with cheap, easy-to-get parts from the local hardware store...

Bangor, Maine? People weren't meant to live anywhere in Maine. Freeze and die asshats.
