With Stoli it's more like the "red-eyed russkie" and "pounding headache".

I was reading along peacefully until they used the term "cocooning."
This crap word seemed to come into style after 9/11 and every time I see it, I want to strangle the writer.

Ha! I never go to a bar, they always make the drink wrong.

It's the only vodka I drink because I've had too many others give me a raging migraine after only one drink.

My only problem with Stoli is that it's so smooth when drunk ice-cold with soda that you can consume vast quantities without noticing until you're naked and the lampshade is on your head.

I used to have the same problem with this:

When I was out of work I invented a drink. I called it the Unemployment. In an ice filled 20 oz soda glass pour 2/3 glass of the cheapest store brand vodak and 1/3 glass store brand grape soda. After two it doesn't matter.

/whatever *it* may be
//no hangover

I love my Stoli. Always in the freezer, almost always with ice and mixer.

"Sure, have another."

For all those who are jocking Stolichnaya, most Russians won't even drink it if given a choice.

Grey Goose is the vodka of choice.

I like my drinks more detached to my reality, thank you.

Aquadyne: Grey Goose is the vodka of choice.

Grey Goose is vodka for people who want to be seen drinking something pretentious.

If you want the best combination of taste and value, you can't beat Sobieski. I keep mine in the freezer, in a Gordon's bottle. The square shape prevents accidental vodka suicide.

Ah, another vodka-bullshiat thread.
I like alcohol; I am a wine, beer, gin, rum, sake, shochu, baijiu and whiskey snob, and I also like vodka. But vodka is mainly just vodka. The differences between standard and premium unflavored vodka are barely noticeable to most people when drunken straight, and impossible to notice when you mix it.

Personally I prefer Chopin if drunken straight, but the difference with most cheaper brand is minimal and does not warrant the price-difference. And I am an experienced taster. If you mix it, it doesnt make any difference whatsoever whether you use Chopin, Absolut,Stoli, Smirnoff, or any other reasonable brand. (In contrast with for example gin, where there are far larger differences in taste when used in mixes)

Claims that premium vodka cause less of a hangover are complete and utter bullshiat as well, unless of course you compare it with the very cheapest and the Russian homemade stuff.

/always have a bottle of stoli and zubrowka bison grass.
//Tanqueray No.10 gin, Laphroaigh Scotch and Zacapa Centenario Rum.

I'm so with you on this. "Frozen" Stoli, my perference is for shots.

I prefer Moskovskaya to Stolichnaya myself. It's 5 bucks cheaper and is more oily on the palate. Plus it's just as smooth as Stoli, however I haven't done the hangover comparison test yet, so the 5 bucks may be better spent on vodak than Taco Bell.

Vodka is the only liquor that I can't drink unless it's decent. Just thinking of the word Fleischman's makes me dry heave.
That being said, the vodka that seems to give me the least trouble is Ketel One. Our local gem Rehorst is pretty good too.

Grey Goose is complete crap. CRAP, I tell you!

I don't drink Stoli, don't like it.

Bagelox-99 2009-02-01 02:26:33 PM
Paying Grey Goose prices for your Rooski juice is criminal. Smirnoff is the smoothest vodak going. No industrial by-product aftertaste.

There you go. Couple ice cubes, splash of apple juice, and you're set.
