I thought this trend was over, like, 7 years ago.

I can't be any other color anymore. I was born a dishwater blonde, and in 8th grade, it got sun bleached a strawberry blonde, and it's been a shade of red no matter if I get it professionally dyed or otherwise since.

The Hand That Feeds: I don't think anything could make me desperate enough to go blonde. :(

THIS. My hairstylist has been itching for forever and a day to put blonde highlights in my (very lovely, I might add) medium brown hair, to play up the natural blonde streaks along my hairline, but I point blank refuse. NO. FARKING. WAY.

/Get that nasty shiat away from my head, before I have a total Biatch fit.
//*note* Has also dyed my hair every color BUT blonde (so dye itself isn't the issue), and am currently all natural, and loving it.

Ringshadow 2009-02-01 12:58:09 AM
I went red a while ago, it's slowly streaking out now. Probably going to get highlights when I get my hair cut the next time, but I'd never go blond.

I'm firmly convinced that seeing red in the mirror every day drives women insane.

And in a very very good way.
I bare the emotional and physical scars of many relationships with redheads (and one marriage) and would not have it any other way.

Dear Fark Abbey,

My wife's lovely red hair is showing streaks of silver after 30+ years of wedded bliss. Should I suggest she dye it back to red, or should I not mention it?

I think the blonder one...which is more of a strawberry blonde in that photo, is deceiving. You guys are falling for more skin than the more conservative redder one. But whatever. It's more my preference than yours, so if you like, great, if not, well that's your problem, ya know?

baxterdog [TotalFark] 2009-02-01 01:08:37 AM
Haa! Shadow Blasko! Me too. There is something to be said about fiery redheads. The same thing that can be said about psycho chicks. Fun in bed, not so much fun in a restaurant.

I will say that I 'see red' from time to time, but I think that's more of my 'daddy issues' than due to the color of my hair. It just happens to be coincidental on that part.

You should keep your yap shut unless she brings it up. And only if she brings it up.

Is your hair turning gray as well? Do you dye it?

StreetlightInTheGhetto 2009-02-01 01:13:25 AM
My mom's been dying her hair for as long as I can remember. I see pics of her with a pretty dark brown and wonder WTF made her choose - and stick with - blonde for so long.

Don't mention it.

If she's a redhead, I wager she'll probably want to dye it back there soon enough... at least all the redheads I've known effing embrace being a redhead and wouldn't want to lose it.

But let her do it on her own time frame. Dying is something you start and can't really easily stop without roots and everything else, like "figuring out how to get the color on decently", "not ending up with dried out frizzy hair that looks like crap". If she's never dyed before, she probably isn't rushing to start because of a bit of gray.

/mid-20s
//have gray strands
///realized it was irrational and had to fight down the urge to biatch-slap my boyfriend when he mentioned it
////thx for the genes mom!
