I did cupcakes for someone's wedding in October. And just did some for a friend's birthday. They are more fun to make than cake, I think it's the cuteness factor, I dunno. But they are pretty popular these days. A cupcake shop just opened here in Va Beach.

My friends had vanilla and chocolate wedding cupcakes instead of a normal cake... it rocked. Way better than shiatty, inedible fruitcake (the bride swore she wouldn't impose unpleasant cake on her guests "like every other wedding she'd been to")
