Hey, it's likely to have a positive effect. Get the kids into Scientology and the little twerps will spend so much time working to afford auditing, they'll fall asleep in class. Problem solved.

darkyn [TotalFark] 2009-01-30 05:51:03 PM
What could possibly go wrong?

ShawnDoc [TotalFark] 2009-01-30 06:14:19 PM
If they get into Scientology, you won't have to worry about them wasting their time playing video games or doing drugs. They won't have enough money to purchase either.

For the Canadian farkers who are still uninfected, I'll let you know what areas will be hit and when, but to ensure that the information isn't leaked, you won't get much warning.

Man I need to really quite my job and start up a religion. Something like I am the re-incarnation of Xenu and all the hot girls in the church need to sleep with me so I can repopulate the planet with my offspring.

The Ministry of Education is referring teachers to an organization set up by the Church of Scientology, the group made infamous by Tom Cruise, the raving couch-bounder and Scientology adherent.

Whhhhaaaa?? The Church of Scientology that was all legit and famous, then Tom Cruise made it infamous for his ridiculous yet legal behavior? THAT CoS?

pretty much anyone with money an agenda to push can make instructional materials and hand 'em out to be used by overworked teachers, a lot of the time with lesson plans included. i imagine these things are full of magic-eye pictures with subliminal scientologist messages, or something.

Students are out of control? Gosh, maybe we should hire some professionals to be in charge of controlling them. Maybe they can teach them a thing or two while they are at it.

Ahhh... Scientology in Canada... convicted of criminal offences and then successfully sued for millions for spewing vicious libel against the Crown prosecutor prosecuting their criminal case. What a winning "church".

Oh, and while they may be in the list of religions for the purposes of StatsCan, they've been denied church status by the Canada Revenue Agency (which would give them the ability to issue charitable tax receipts) because they don't worship a diety (which is one of the criteria).

rodeofrog 2009-01-30 07:10:07 PM
Sometimes I think maybe there is a God and maybe I lived in the presence of God somehow before I was born on this earth. We all did, you know?

And I think that God would not be bound by time, so when I lived in the presence of God I was able to see life without beginning or end - outside of the constraints of time. We all did.

And maybe God really did have Jesus live a perfect life and give Himself as a sacrifice for all the sins of the earth so that all life might be sanctified and eternal. So this life is like a precious gift from God, paid for by the blood of Jesus. Each of us has been given the precious gift of life on earth at this moment.

So, when I start to think about these things, I can't help but wonder: did I know I would waste my precious gift worrying about shiat like this?

Saw this story in yesterday's paper when I was on my lunch break and thought to my self, "if there's anything fark loves, it's an Asinine tag with the word 'Scientology' in the headline."

seems to be a good formula to follow for liters to get a green.

When I was in high school, the teacher started the Dianetics thing in one of my classes. I thought it sounded interesting, kind of like hypnosis is interesting. Then, I read more about it and found out what it was a gateway to. Then, I found out she was paid under the table to do it. I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

Remember this part of my vomit?

So, when I start to think about these things, I can't help but wonder: did I know I would waste my precious gift worrying about shiat like this?

That's the part where I explain that those with their heads in the clouds forget about the day-to-day aspects of life on earth. Because life on earth is full of shiat.

One more thing: tell your mother to wash up downstairs before tomorrow night.

I live in Downtown Clearwater - Sci-Ti Town. We have protesters, on a regular basis, on our sidewalks, carrying signs and shouting as passersby. It pisses me off, although I'm a proponent of protected speech. I guess it's a live and let live thing for me.

That said, I am astonished nobody has the coins to do the same in front of our Catholic churches or Calvary Baptist. They are all the same ilk, man. They control your mind long enough to slink another dollar out of your wallet. Scientology is a cult? I say they are ALL cults.

I have some respect for believers. A bit less for church-goers. Even less for those who feel the need to change me towards their faith. And... pretty much none at all for people who would try to shut down any of the above. Again. Live and let live.

Stop Scientology? What the fark for? It's like any other thing you deem negative. If you don't like it - don't participate.

Hyperbole aside Canada has some seriously defective limits on free-speech; Mark Steyn is a perfect example. He was a MacLean's writer that got taken to the Human Rights commission for writing an article about Islam.
