I was certain that I was the only person on Earth who enjoyed the album they released.
Also, I enjoy U2, I like the new single, I hate the new album's artwork, but I will watch their performance.

/what's a "Rihanna?"

I like Kid Rock. Not so much his music, more the fact that he seems to act the way I want my rock stars to act.

Some new metal band.

Agreed. Krauss has the voice of an angel (I don't say that about anyone else).

She does club/pop music. The few songs I've heard aren't bad.

Plant and Krauss rule.

Subby needs cyanide.

Kid Rock
Rihanna
Alison Krauss and Robert Plant

It's a music industry event.

Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow participation are mandatory. She's not on the list yet, but she will turn up on stage somehow.

It doesn't get any more irrelevant than the Grammys. Who the fark planned to watch it anyways?

Philbigtime 2009-01-29 03:19:21 PM
Seeing Plant/Krauss at ACL last year was one of the highlights of my 2008 (although that's not really saying much). Came to defend P/K, leaving satisfied.

He doesn't have to. That idiotic retooling of "Sweet Home Alabama" is one of the most pathetic, inane, cynical, and obnoxious clone jobs in history.

Why doesn't Captain Hatsalot just "sample" the original, slap his name on it, and call it "credit"? Oh, wait...he did.

Now that I try to look it up...I cant find any evidence of my asinine out-of-your-ass statement. I know he pays em, but I dont see any writing credits.

yes none of them suck as hard as U2. While others may be bad none can compare to their level of douchebaggines and self importance.

I think you are overeating just a little. He is using Rock and Roll of old to attract a larger audience.

Everything thats old is new again, especially in music.

Plant/Krauss=Huge win

Kid Rock I saw in concert a few years ago and had a lot of fun. I can't picture listening to the music when I'm sitting at home, but I'd heard the live show was great and wasn't disappointed.

Feel bad for subby who is obviously forced to watch TV shows he's not interested in

I'm guessing you're kidding. Either that or you didn't notice the "hook" is "Singing Sweet Home Alabama every night".

I saw Plant/Krauss at Jazzfest last spring, and it was even more awesome than I thought it would be.

I vote for subby to shut his whore mouth.

I think i remember reading somewhere about "a Whole Lotta Love"...
that Plant sounded, to the article writer at least, like a screeching orangatang having an orgasm or something...

Came here to say that the Plant/Krauss album is insanely good. A little bloated on the production, but amazing nonetheless.

No someone else is. The song does have Sweet Home Alabama melody in it along with the words "Singin Sweet Home Alabama all summer long"
and the back up singers doing the "oooh oooh oooh " while the guitar plays the lead licks.

LewDux 2009-01-29 06:56:03 PM

I so farking agree. When I first heard that diotic retooling of "Sweet Home Alabama" and knowing that it is a huge hit, words fail to describe how useless i find this song. Its basically a small portion of the song looped endlessly and replaced it with some 5th grader lyrics over it

I. dont. get. itshiat like that shouldn't exist, and I dont even like skynyrd

Good to know I'm not the only one who appreciates the awesomeness that is the Plant/Krauss collaboration. Truly one of the best albums released in the last several years.

I would say that Plant & Krauss, and Radiohead are probably going to be the best thing at the Grammys.

Ilmarinen 2009-01-31 09:42:09 AM
I surmise subby put Plant/Krauss in the headline to get a thread going.

/yes, I, too, love that album
