This should be epic.

See, I love Rahzel's beatboxing, but Patton's recordings for Male Voice? Blech. Stick to fantomas/bungle business, good sir.

/deeply respects Mr. Patton for doing his own thing

Wow, kind of vaguely curious to see what a FNM reunion would sound like.
What's that guitarist with a huge beard and glasses up to anyways?

chances of faith no more ever playing again getting smaller and smaller

From what I understand getting Mike and Jim to even talk to each other would be a small victory. With Mike's recent foray's into hip-hop he must be going through a midlife crisis. What a jizzlobber.

I saw Rahzel live about ten years ago. That man IS the party. Adding anybody else to the mix is just the sprinkles on the donut.

I would love to see Faith No More again.

that said, i'd also settle for Tomahawk or Fantomas if they ever actually toured the states proper.

I'm sorry, I saw Tomahawk open for Tool on the "Lateralus" tour and I've never witnessed such a concert trainwreck in my entire life and that includes someone throwing a beer on the soundboard and both Maiden and Slayer shows in NYC.
You could literally hear crickets. People were looking at each other like, "What the fark was THAT?!".

Mike Patton without FTM? meh

Weird just to be weird is annoying more than anything else.

Especially, when you know the guy turned his back on the awesome of FTM just to be weird.

FNM is great, but Mike Patton is on crack hitler or something. He's done a million things in recent years, not all of it that great. He should take it Easy and be king for a day.

/is it dead now?

really? I saw Fantomas open for Tool and they blew tool off the stage. though to be fair Tool were probably the most boring live band I have ever seen in my life so that didn't help.

/didn't understand it because I had seen tool once before in the 1990's and they were pretty good then.

Tomahawk dropped from the ticket two shows before I saw Tool on that same tour. I was pissed! However, Meshuggah was the new opener and it also produced crickets. I figured it was the douchebaggery of the teenage angst kids who didn't want to give a good listen to a band they'd never heard before.

Show me a Mr. Bungle reunion GODDAMMIT!!

You're comparing schizophrenic avant-garde art-house metal to tribal progressive acid metal. Polar opposites on the spectrum of metal that I pulled out of my ass.

Tool has played some great live gigs, but Ween is the best live band ever.

They will all regret it the morning after

seveword 2009-01-26 09:26:17 PM
Patton and Rahzel did a couple songs on the Peeping Tom project, I think? It was pretty solid, a few songs fell flat, but Patton did pop music pretty well.

HallsOfMandos 2009-01-26 09:55:02 PM
I was supposed to see Tomahawk open for Tool that tour, but we were late and I only caught like the last 30 seconds of it :(

I did get to see Fantomas, however, at a little place called the Vogue here in Indy - was made of win, really wish they would make another album and tour again, though I would be happy with any new Patton releases.

Also, +1 to Tool being boring live...they used to be my #1 favorite band and I still love their music, but will never pay money to see them live again.

This. Probably the only decent thing he's done since the last Mr. Bungle record.

I tried to get into Peeping Tom, but it just didn't take. Same with Tomahawk. Mike Patton's kinda hit or miss, really.

why is no one making an obvious joke about having "no more faith" in this band reuniting, or something to that extent?

Just bring back Chuck Mosely to FNM then We('ll) Care Alot.

Only thing worse than the standard Mike Patton gay sex fantasy threads is the horrible references to FNM songs. And for the record, Jim Martin was not an original member, nor the best guitarist to play in the band. King For a Day and Album of The Year were just as good as The Real Thing and Angel Dust. The guitar playing on KFAD and AOTY was more interesting, modern, and heavy.

SubBass49 2009-01-27 01:22:02 AM
I've seen Rahzel perform with Mike Patton before (a few years back at Cane's in San Diego) and it was pretty epic. If you like experimental noise and/or hip-hop, you'll enjoy them paired up. Twas good times.

There is accounting for taste.

Tomahawk live... And it's incredible
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZf7Nq4SQUQ

And to the person who said Mike Patton was better with Faith no More... whatever dude... Mr Bungle was Patton's best work. "California" came out after FTMs last album and was better than any FTM album.... (even Angel Dust)

I saw Peeping Tom at Coachella back in 07 and it was farkin incredible. Rahzel wasnt there, it was some biatch from nutsacramento named Butterscotch. Patton farted into the mic. It ruled.

I saw Patton perform with Rahzel on the Roskilde festival some years ago. It was farking awesome. Patton also performed with some japanese noiseartist. It was somewhat less than awesome.
