As opposed to subby's unbroken string of musical brilliance, which is still going strong, right?

You're talking about David Bowie man!

You can just STFU now.

That, you douchenoz. DOuble fark you if you're some hipster asslick who listens to The Killers or any of that new glam shiat because it absolutely rips from Bowie. Poorly.

Actually, as a huge fan of his stuff, I'd have to say that his song writing went right out the window immediately after his marriage to Iman. After which, it has since had brief bouts with recovery. God only knows...what it'll do next.

FTFY-and that's only because somebody will accidentally set fire to that painting of himself he keeps in the attic.

He's not a prolific as he was in his low days perhaps but tracks like 5.15 the Angels Have Gone on Heathen is as good as anything in his career.

Look on Bowie's works, ye Mighty, and despair:

Little fat man who sold his soul,
Little fat man who sold his dream...

Pathetic little fat man,
No one's bloody laughing,
The clown that no one laugh's at,
They all just wish he'd die.

He's so depressed at being hated,
Fatso takes his own life,
He blows his stupid brains out,
But the twat would probably miss.

He sold his soul for a shot at fame,
Catchphrase and wigs and the jokes are lame,
He's got no style, he's got no grace,
He's banal and facile, he's a fat waste of space

See his pug-nosed face...Pug, pug, pug, pug,
See his pug-nosed face...Pug, pug, pug, pug,
See his pug-nosed face...Pug, pug, pug, pug,
The little fat man with the pug-nosed face, Pug, pug, pug, pug,
Little fat man, pug-nosed face, Pug, pug, pug, pug,
He's a little fat pug-nosed face, Pug, pug, pug, pug.

"Slow Burn" is a song written by David Bowie for the album Heathen in 2002. The song features Pete Townshend on guitar. In June 2002 it was released as a single. It received a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Male Vocal Performance.

Outside has some great songs on it - unfortunately, as is legally obligated for concept albums, it has to also have some lame stuff on there, but it still gets regular CD play. I just have to keep a finger ready on the skip button. Earthling had a couple. I liked that period where he had a bit more edge in the music than his crooner years. Still pop, but pop with some nice crunch to it.

miltonbabbitt 2009-01-26 04:20:56 PM
Yeah subby, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

1derful 2009-01-26 04:51:16 PM
Bowie gets a lot of the credit that belongs to Mick Ronson and a fair amount that belongs Ken Scott.

He's a great songwriter, but as an arranger and producer he's always stood on the shoulders of geniuses.

Take a long hard suck on the Ziggy, a spider from mars upside the head, and a thin white duke right up your ignorant arse, Subby.

do you have one really funky sequined space suit, Bowie? Or do you have several ch-ch-ch-ch- changes?

The song "Days" from his most recent album Reality is one of my favourite Bowie songs ever. Subby can go eat a chocolate bar out of Mick Jagger's ass.

i'm afraid of americans? really. ok, it's written by trent reznor but damn good song

craigdamage 2009-01-26 07:49:52 PM
Glad to see some Tin Machine appreciation here.

That band was tragically underrated.

Everyone assumed it was just another Bowie "stunt" and they totally weren't.

Bowie just simply wanted to be a guy in a basic unpretentious rock band. The press were total assholes about the whole thing.

Tin Machine wasn't anywhere near as slick and fabricated as many other 80s projects.

Good songs.
Good records.
Nobody got it.

Can you imagine ANY current vapid and pre-fabricated pop-star sensation making it as a true member of a real rock band?

No dice.

CavalierEternal [TotalFark] 2009-01-26 08:07:28 PM
I don't care what you say, this cut was a diamond in the rough of a pretty slow 90's period for Bowie.

"David Bowie to dig up the corpse of Ziggy Stardust, which won't be hard to locate. It's buried right next to his ability to write a decent song, which died somewhere in the 80s"

"I'm bitter that nothing is like it used to be and I can't cope with ch-ch-ch-ch-changes."
