This should have had the Obvious tag. Did anyone actually believe her when she said she'd be returning all those clothes?

Did Mr. Thug Alaska ever marry her daughter? Can we get some pictures of him shirtless?

Odd, it appears that the only part of me that I can get to care is the part of me that objectifies hot guys. Sorry, but Palin stories suck.

It's 2009 now. Can't we just let Sarah Palin blend back into the Alaskan woodwork where she belongs?

Sarah Palin is my favorite candidate. So unelectable even Mondale laughs at her.

Didn't read the article, eh? Or the headline? She handed them over to the RNC who then stuffed them in trash bags and put them in storage, instead of donating them to charity, as they promised.

Note to RNC: throw the bags in the back of a pick-up, drive to the nearest Salvation Army, take bags inside. TA-DA!!! Mission Accomplished!!

I wonder if she ever returned her kids' underwear.

Or if she ever explained how her childrens' underwear counted as a 'campaign expense'.

The problem with Sarah Palin is not that she is unelectable since that "horse has not left the barn."

The problem is she could be an exceptionally divisive political figure, not necessarily because of her politics. In reality, she is probably much more pragmatic than we give her credit for.

Yet, she took the role of a dogmatic attack dog in a losing, divisive election. Now she is stuck with this rabid fan base of basically knuckleheads.

Unfortunately for her, she was not ready for the national pressure cooker.

I like her, personally, but she is not presidential timber. She could be ready in 10-15 years, though.

Obama is something special. He is the man of his time, and the right time for this man. We are so lucky that it worked out like this, and in a way, Sarah Palin played her role right.

Thank you. I, and many others, could give a rat's ass about Palin.
It's over. Let her slide back into obscurity as soon as possible.

I would consider "retuning clothes" to be returning them back to the stores where they were purchased, not put at some other location.

Sarah Palin never returned those expensive campaign clothes.

I didn't care that she had very expensive clothes bought for her as I didn't donate to the McCain/Palin campaign; it wasn't public funds being spent (as far as I know). It did make a mockery of her appeal to the average voter, especially in this time where so many are having a hard time making financial ends meet considering her wardrobe budget was more than most people make in a year but for the Palin faithful, I doubt that hypocrisy made any difference.

far_cue: Whining about the outrageous expense of the Palin clothes: priceless.

I'm not whining. I didn't pay for them.

If the folks who donated to the RNC don't mind their contributions going toward the purchase of a Louis Vuitton bag for little what's-her-name, then I don't see what the problem is. The best part is that those donors are never going to say they mind, because that would be admitting they were conned.

The problem is that she has no intention of doing that. Which is perfectly fine with me. As long as bat-shiat crazy people like her continue to be the face of the GOP, we Democrats can look forward to many, many more years of success.

Why do liberals hate Palin so much?

Should all women be like the Sex and the City girls and end up sad sack 40-50 year olds acting like they are twenty?

I don't know anyone that hates her. Just think she's woefully unqualified to be in the White House. If she's serious about it, she can maybe prepare herself to someday be qualified, but I'll still oppose her as long as she is the type of person that takes the Bible literally and only considers parts of America to be "real."

And please don't give me the "Executive experience" tripe. The fact that she was floored by simple questions and displayed a completely erroneous view of the Constitution on more than one occasion trumps any gubernatorial or mayoral experience.

We've had way too many idiots running government. It's going to take at least a decade to undo the damage done by The Worst President Ever, that is if it can be undone. I don't think we could survive another idiot of Bush's or Palin's magnitude in the White House.

What, the topic of Palin? I agree. I was just commenting about where all the Palin auto-defenders are. Usually they jump all over this thread, but they are missing.
